Bit of activity going on today! I've heard of this guy which instantly means I presume he's good. Looked him up a bit and he does seem a little injury prone.

That's got to be the final nail in Garner's Town career then.
Assuming this lad is a centre back that is.

The story about the winger from Bury is just below the one about Antwi, so I assumed another player was on the way as well. Knowing how erm, 'efficiently' the web site is run, this probably isn't the case.

Dagenham released him on relegation from Div one last season, Only signed a 6 month contract with Luton! Had a broken toe, and severe ankle injury, a few years back, but scored 2 in 12 for Luton. Played in this div for two promotion winning teams! Young players and also experienced players coming in to replace mediocre players not cutting it after a few seasons here! Church being the exception n hopefully will be a better player for the loan experience! Just hope the players have been watched n not picked of an expensive version of chart manager!! UTM.

Signed a six month deal with Luton in July so a permanent deal could be on the cards if he impresses, similar to the Sam Mulready situation!

If he's any good we sign him if he don't bring owt to the improvement of our defence then get rid in Jan n look elsewhere, but he's very experienced in this league and with promotion winning teams!

Promoted teams have tight defences - we can only hope for a similar improvement - if he's any good, then we will have centre halves learning their trade !

Central defender who is also an accomplished midfielder,so should be comfortable on the ball.Played with a few promotion winning sides as well, captaining one and vice captaining another.
Sounds like a good all round signing to me,with leadership qualities.

The fact that we are signing players is a good sign. I am sure this would not be happening if funding for the rest of the season wasn't in place.

Like Garner was played at lb and looked useless? People might not think he's the best ch but he's definitely not anything like as bad as he looked in that position.

theres a chance of that but i can see them dropping I'Anson to play Antwi. we all said after tuesday night that they should stick with the same team but without doubt the two new guys are going to come in. And from what I expect they will drop I'Anson who has been the best defender for us in recent weeks. I look forward to seeing the team on saturday.

Yeah, didn't mean to suggest it was yours or Forza's opinion, more indicative of just how this boards opinion will no doubt crystalize into both camps before he's kicked a ball for us.

Well, we've been suspect in defence this season and Antwi looks to have plenty of experience it looks a decent signing there.
I do agree that after playing so well on Tuesday, we shouldn't be looking to change the team too much on Saturday though, especially when it comes to the back four.

I think Kempson could be on his way . This guy can play in mid-field as well and I think we may see a few more versatile players in the squad at the expense of one-dimentional players. If Green makes the grade then he is another one with versatility - left-back ,left-mid-field and left wing. To get the best out of a small squad of about 18 - 20 players ( which is what I think The Dynamic Duo will aim for ) then you have to have a fair number of multi-positional players.

lot of sense in that rancido -your first point is strengthened by the fact that kempson and antwi are both left footers

Antwi- Has done well in what is a difficult situation, has a degree of pace and seems quite vocal. His positional awareness seems lacking at times though mostly he redeems this with his pace. Unfortunately his distribution can at times be woeful and it does lead to us losing possesion in dangerous areas. Should he be given a contract extension? A bit early to say. With Pilks, Blackett, Beckwith and KK add in Hand, Ed as short term cover there may well not be a space for him. If Pilks and Blackett are still struggling towards Xmas then he could get himself an extra 6 months. Conclusion: Probably deserves an extension but due to circumstances probably wont, which is a shame for him. On a side note if he had forced himself into GB's long term plans by now then i'm sure the club would have moved to secure him on a longer contract(Thats is if they aren' t as we speak) do these two players deserve new contracts? i would offer Will Antwi a new contract of a 1 and a half year deal without a doubt. he has been very impressive this season and was absolutely solid against lincoln on the weekend. he wins nearly all of the headers and he has a bit of pace behind him which helps. i would offer Osano a deal until the end of the season. i think he is a decent player at this level but has made the odd mistake for us which puts me off slightly. if we get promotion then i would question giving him a new deal, i wouldn't be sure. Antwi on the other hand is an excellent player for us who i think would form a great partnership with George Pilkington at the back. Beckwith is a little slow for me so i prefer Antwi over Beckwith. http://extra-time.co.uk/topic/12682-osano-antwi/some more positive stuff about antwi from luton fans doesn't look good for mr kempson.....

I suppose you could say the same for Pearson bearing mind Kempo has been first choice all season, although he had a very promising performance on tues either way I hope we stick with a cb pairing for a run of games namely I'anson and pearson for now after the performance on tues, It could be counter productive if we change again, Maybe stick WillWi in mid field in replace of panther.

sorry clive , but I can't see that. think that the new2 are going for a bit of experience to shore up the youngsters. pearson, like church, has not adapted to bsp footie as quickly as anybody would have liked. antwi and panther are both vocal, leaders and experienced at this level. kempson and artus aren't doing the business so the new2 have acted to improve the 'stock'. i'm glad to see that the new2 are identifying problems and dealing with it. i think it's going to be i'anson with antwi and panther with disley in mid then duffy/ elding and hearn up front - thus hopefully giving the team a strong spine

I'd like to think it would be Kempson on his way but very much doubt it. He's been an almost ever present barring injury, why would he be jetisoned now. As someone above said, I think I'anson will probably make way judging by past actions. A shame as I've liked what I've seen, although granted that hasn't been too much!

Shocked at the signing given we've got 4 CB's (and are apparently skint)
All I can think is someone is leaving or he's here for "leadership".
If someone has to go, I hope it's Kempson not Garner. If we do end up dropping I'Anson I think it's a mistake.

sorry clive , but I can't see that. think that the new2 are going for a bit of experience to shore up the youngsters. pearson, like church, has not adapted to bsp footie as quickly as anybody would have liked. antwi and panther are both vocal, leaders and experienced at this level. kempson and Artus aren't doing the business so the new2 have acted to improve the 'stock'. i'm glad to see that the new2 are identifying problems and dealing with it. i think it's going to be i'anson with antwi and panther with disley in mid then duffy/ welding and hearn up front - thus hopefully giving the team a strong spine
myself I would prefer Eldin to partner Hearn I don't rate Duffy I am also pleased about the 2 new guys it seems as if S&H are willing to put things right.UTMM. cleefish

lot of sense in that rancido -your first point is strengthened by the fact that kempson and antwi are both left footers
I think we all know Kempson is no-footed!

I'd like to think it would be Kempson on his way but very much doubt it. He's been an almost ever present barring injury, why would he be jetisoned now. As someone above said, I think I'anson will probably make way judging by past actions. A shame as I've liked what I've seen, although granted that hasn't been too much!
i wouldn't underestimate the new2 - they are hard headed barstewards by all accounts and i just wonder whether the defensive calamities v. newport was the last straw. they must know that the defence has looked frail all year, and this is despite the fact that the midfield is much stronger than it has been for several years. kempsons injury is the perfect opportunity to see if antwi could be the answer

I think what we are seeing is a continuation of what The Dynamic Duo started in the summer. They had a clear out of the obvious deadwood and the ones they weren't sure of were retained. The players they have brought in have been a mixed bunch with some obvious successes like Disley and some not working out as planned like Artus. I think the departure of Ridley was inevitable once his lack of pace had been exposed so often , an example of a player they weren't too sure of but retained for his experience. By bringing in these loan players now gives them the opportunity to see how they fit in with the possibility of a permanent contract at the end of the season. The first two seasons of any managers term of office will see a lot of comings and goings unless they have been fortunate enough to inherit a basically good squad which we didn't have.
