Salisbury are 24 points behind the leaders, in 16th place.  We have a chance then.  Good support needed.

indeed. the ground is some 3 miles north east of the ground (so a mate from uni has told me)
there are no pubs anywhere near the ground, but some good ones in the city centre.

i am trying to get some info with regards to decent ones, but am guessing there is the usual wetherspoons etc

pubs mentioned in the Bible (aka the good beer guide)

ANCHOR & HOPE - Winchester st. friendly, traditional pub in city centre - 3 beers and 6 types of pizza!
DEACONS - Fisherton St - friendly old fashioned local - close to raiway station.has footie on tv. 3 beers
KINGS HEAD - Bridge st. - weteherspoons and reccommended
RAI D'OR - Brown st - dates from 1292 sounds v. quaint (bit like the imp then!!) 2 ales, votede salisbury CAMRA pub of the year and serves Thai food
ROYAL GEORGE - Bedwin St - listed 15century pub (the same as the rutland!) nice old local in city centre
WINCHESTER GATE - Rampart road - old coaching inn on east tollgate now a free house.proper cider and food served
WYNDHAM ARMS - Estcourt road - 6 ales - genuine local

sounds like the basis for a decent pub crawl

Yeah why not? I'll go. I've got folks in Winchester so I'll drop in on them too for some free berr, food and lodgings!

Those were the days, my friend,
We took the Stretford End,
We took the Kop, the Kippax and the Shed,
We lived the life we choose,
We'd fight, we'd never lose,
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days,
Nah nah nah nah nah nah, Town!
