SEE STICKY ON SPEND AND RAISE
Great to see fishy posters really supporting the Trust with an easy way to raise £5-£6 each for them-not. I think about 3 of us have bothered, and it seems to have been totally ignored for almost 24 hours
so please, do something positive for a change and register and raise some money.
on another point - has anyone got any ideas as to how we can get us fans to use the trust's spend and raise pages? i use several of those websites such as amazon and expedia, yet consistently forget to go via the trust pages. wonder if other clubs or charities have got ways to encourage or remind people to log on via their pages when making purchases.
as emma says a lot of money can be raised pretty easily especially with xmas coming and also the time when people are thinking of booking flights and holidays

I know it may seem like a daft question but why would a trust want money?
Surely we should be raising it for GTFC.

Does the trust not raise the money then put it to useful affect within GTFC?

My understanding is that the trust should not raise money and simply hand it over to GTFC to be lost in the black hole!

I would expect the Trust to raise money to help specific projects chosen by their membership. This could be community involement by way of getting more kids involved with GTFC or perhaps a supporters bar at BP where all are welcome. There are many ideas floating around and hopefully more will be put forward at the Trusts AGM tomorrow evening at 7pm (McMenemy's)

thanks psg /gobby.

BUT - still only 9 people have bothered to spend 5 minutes raising money. good to see apathy continues to reign supreme (i note however that the thread for people moaning about paying full price to watch port vale is still going full steam ahead - says it all, doesn't it?)

I checked this and it does thankfully.

The register / login thing is simply there so that peole can track how much they personally have contributed. So long as you click on a link on the GTST Spend and Raise page then they will get paid the commission.

Exactly.

I've no problem with donating money to a cause just so long as I know what the cause is.

I was very pleased to see the club initiate the "Grimsby Town Youth Advent Calendar" on the OS to which I've just contributed £25.

If you believe in the idea of a continued youth setup is the backbone of our future, then please help support it ?

Good on you.

That's a fair point about knowing where the money is going. I wonder if GTST could ring fence any money made from Spend and Raise for 1 particular cause? Might help focus the mind and encourage everyone to keep using it.

Good on you.

That's kind but I don't think I deserve any thanks.

Last thing I want is no youth setup and lets face facts, it may not be here forever unless we strive to keep it and show our support.

Sure everybodys finances are tight but I'd hope anyone who can afford it could maybe do the same ?

On the subject of fundraising in general, I'd always like to see an on-line "running total" where fans can atually SEE the total grow as it might inspire us collectively to reach certain targets.

e.g. You could even introduce a meter with e.g. target 1 does x, 2 provides y for 3 months etc.
Similar to what charities do...

Or just keep it as a simple running total if it's easier.

If anyone wants to raise this as a point at the AGM tonight then please do cos IMO it's the kind of thing that inspires people to participate in a common goal.

That function already exists on Spend and Raise. Think you need to log in to see it.

The target is £5,000 and they are about 25% of the way there I think. I agree that it acts as an incentive and it's good to see the every little helps ethos in action.

    * Total Raised: £1,277.42
    * Target: £5000

Seems to be a pretty steady flow over the last few days but important it carries on.

easy money indeed, I still think it should be advertised at the match today and in the GET bearing in mind someone who nicks a packet of walkers crisps makes the front page !

All seems to have gone a bit quiet over the last few days. No new transactions on there since Tuesday.

Hopefully that means anyone who had 10 minutes spare to raise a free £10 for GTST has now done it, but if not please see the Spend and Raise sticky for details of how to help.
