So 'if' town draw on Sat against Port Vale.
When would the reply be played?

It couldn't be the following Tuesday as planned for the replays as town are on TV on Thursday night.
We have a league game on the following Sat and then play Stockport at home on the Tuesday after?

FA competitions take precedent over mere conference matches in that situation, I believe. I'd rather that tbh, I'm home for a midweek match for the first time in about a year and would rather watch a live match than one in a pub.

Doesn't the FA Cup take priority? Or is that just the complete shambles of the FA Trophy?

Cheers yeah thought it rang a bell.

Guess it's an OS member up then.

Wonder if we'd be forced to play 2 games in 3 days ?....

Got to draw first I suppose, who knows we might win !

I would expect the league game (Kettering) to be moved back to the Saturday.

I think Darlo at home last season was moved because of their FA Trophy involvement. It wasn't as short notice though so you're probably right.

You may be right but doesn't normally happen so soon ?

Is it possible the Stockport game on the 29th could be cancelled ?

intercourse it, I'm not theorizing any more until we get a result.

I think the police require at least a week's notice for a replay, daft is it sounds for a game like this.

I was just thinking that it would be played on that date because the qualifying replays were played on the Tuesday after the original tie.

Not a chance it will be that soon. It will be the date that is set for all replays which will be the Tuesday after. You will have to  play Tuesday and Thursday i would of thought.

Of course we can , you make it sound like we are playing a premiership team. They are only in league 2.

Vale should win, we have better players but that means nothing in a one off FA Cup game.

To be honest it wouldn't be tht much of a shock if Grimsby did win though would it? Like you mention only one League between the sides so anything can happen.

We have been very poor in the last two home games against Morecambe and Swindon but i know  Micky Adams is ringing the changes and im sure we will see a reaction on Saturday.

We wil be hungry and desperate to put on a show for the fans so without being bias, i fully expect a Vale win.

I would take a scrappy horrible 1-0 win now. And get in the draw on Sunday for round 2.

Your manager didn't sound overly confident when he said:

""It might kick-start us if we get a decent result or it could be a case of 'oh no, here we go again',"

We will see then

Be interesting to see what Manny Panther is like, should give you some strength in the middle of the park.

Mickey Adams is a prize girl private (from 1st hand experience), don't really care to much about PV, in fact got a bit of a soft spot for them, but I hope to god we stick one right up the little twits nose. Emotions apart, thinks it's a very close call, going for a draw.

Not for town if they draw. Surly they can't re-organise a televised match in such short notice.

I think it's different when the cup reaches its 'proper' stages.

You're right Abdul. It changes when the FA Cup reaches it's "proper" stages. There is only 2 weeks between the qualifying rounds which is why the replays are the following Tuesday but when the cup reaches the 1st Round there are 3 weeks between rounds. My guess would be that IF there is a replay we will try to switch it to the Monday night 10 days after the original tie between the Newport and Kettering games.

I know that would still mean playing on Saturday and Monday but there seems to be less fuss when 2 games in 3 days are an afternoon kick off followed by and evening one.
