Well one of the reasons anyway:

BP = 101.5 yards x 68.5 yards

VP = 114.5 yards x 77 yards

That might not sound a lot, but add to the fact VP is as flat as a pancake and BP certainly isn't (just look how it rises towards the penalty spots).

Just to be fully correct: VP is 1852.25 square yards bigger than BP, that's a awful lot of extra pitch to cover when you aren't used to it.

I hope someone at the club is looking at this!

Put another way VP is almost a third bigger than BP (if your maths is poor).

Them square yards don't half add up once you start multiplying them dimensions.

I'm not certain, but isn't the BP pitch 101.5 x 68.5 METRES? Which corresponds to 111 x 75 yards - only 6% smaller than Vale Park.

Using that argument, how come no-one else struggles there as much as us?

Maybe the other teams pitches are closer in size?

Biggest pitch in England.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

Can I just say Vale Park always looks huge compared to BP, but I've got it wrong, as mike502 states, my BP dimensions were in fact metres, compared to VP's in yards: very little differnec at all.

I wonder why we struggle at VP then?

Sorry for the mix up, but I'm only a Dog!

Earlier this year our local school's girls team played in the National Final agianst the holders, a team from
Lewisham, which contained several players from Millwall and West Ham. The final was played on Vale Park.

Before they travelled to the game, aware of the size of the playiing surface, the coaches talked about this
with the team and how they should adapt.The girls took this on board and went with a positive attitude.

They played the London team of the park and won 4-1.

Give one good reason why we can't do the same.

No prizes for the best answer(s) !
