4500-5000

BUT as it is a cup tie and STH have to pay,

ATT will be 3,000 to 3,500,

So no great money maker, we will just have to win and hope foe a better draw in R2.

Hi all port vale fan here in peace!

Sorry for the bad draw for you guys but I'm sure it's winnable for you without doubt. We're a decent side and well organised as you'd expect for a Micky Adams side. I'd imagine the crowd will be about 4500 I'd the prices are about £15!

To be honest I don't like playing sides a league lower simply because you lads will turn up, no pressure and relish the chance to take on a side above and prove you can cut it in league 2, which I know and hope you get back to soon!! Proper club Grimsby unlike these Crawley towns etc...

I remember the 90s when grimsby and vale perhaps punched above our weight in division 2 but it would be great to see us both ther one day!..

I will keep in touch and any questions fire away and I'll happily reply.

Thanks to rob Sedgwick for getting me started on this good forum!!

Thanks

Maybe, or we'll make our own pressure for ourselves and gift you a goal or 5! Hopefully our cup form will differ from our league form though, we could really do with a good run.

Always know Grimsby as a footballing side who like to play. Are you still like that in the blue square or gone more physical? It'll be a proper cup tie I'm sure!

How many will you bring? 500 or so ?

Without being disrespectful yes we are happy with an home draw against a side one division below us, but that means absolutely nothing in this great cup. If for example we had drawn bury away who are a league higher we wouldn't be thrilled but we would go there and give them a game.

We are strong at the back with 3 big solid centre halfs who have not a great deal of pace amongst them. We're steady I'm the middle and scoring alot of goals with star striker Marc Richards up front who is the main threat!

We lost at high flying Oxford yesterday and Richards missed an 80th minute penalty which would of been a much deserved point. I think we will make the play offs but I love the fa cup and can't wait for a week on Saturday.

The goal that beat you yesterday was a one-off! If he tries that a hundred more times, it'll never come off! Hate it when that happens!

Totally agree and combine that with us missing the late penalty we feel pretty hard done to say the least..

We have got Swindon at vale park Saturday then the cup game week after which will be a good game. Who is your main threat then this season? Any players watch out for etc...

Liam Hearn (ST, see my sig) is much better than this level and was a hell of a buy for us. He scrored 2 hatricks in consecutive games and has a nice touch. The good news for you though is that he just doen't look quite the same player away from home.
Actually, the good news for you is that THE WHOLE TEAM don't look quite the same away from home!

liam hearn for one of them but he hasnt been finding his away form yet, this youngster weve got on loan from hull who looks pretty decent and disley who has the odd bad game but isnt afraid of diving into a tackle. Good luck to you but a win or at least a draw for us......I hope

I think I'm right in saying that all Hearn's 10 goals this season have been at home.

Sounds a decent player that lad does, and he looks a physical presence from that pic!!

So what's the blue square like? I thought this season Grimsby would be amongst the contenders to get promotion? I know it's still pretty much early days but Wrexham seem to be on fire -

Looks a pretty tough league though with some big clubs languishing in that league. Hope you get out soon lads

Alot of quality teams in this league , but it is awful being down here , the gaps of quality in this league and league 2 is very small in my opinion . You just need to look how Crawley , Stevenage , Afc Wimbledon and Oxford are doing , do you reckon your Adams will put out a full stregnth side ?

Agree totally in what you say about not a lot between the top few sides in the blue square and in league 2.

Adams will put the normal first 11 out without doubt as we also need to get the lucrative 3rd draw like every other club.

If we had been drawn away at blundell park then it may have been tough indeed but I feel vale will scrape it 3-2.

I will keep an eye on your result at bath on Saturday and good luck, I hope you win away from home because I don't want you breaking your duck the following week

The Moorland is only a short walk from Vale Park and has a decent sized car park , not bad food and plenty of
screens to watch the lunchtime game on Sky...
failing that there's always Wrights Pies... bit good they are... and that little cafe Robbie Williams likes
for his pre-match cuppa just down the road....

Your right there mate good knowledge. Did I read your mrs is from stoke on Trent? Chippy by the ground, various places to eat in pubs like you mentioned the moorland is decent and the vale cafe which you rightly said Robbin Williams visits every time he's in the area!

Think the prices have been agreed and it's £10 for adults and kids for a £1 which is good news and I'm sure there will be a decent crowd..

I'm certainly tempted with the reduced ticket price. £21 is the cheapest I have found on the train, so wouldn't cost much more than £40 for the day, and though we'll more than likely lose, there's still something about the FA Cup.

I've also read the acoustics are v. good in the away end so could be a decent atmosphere with a few hundred of us.

Bulls head is probably the best pub in burslem with a massive amount of real ale beers and ciders on show as well as peroni and Amstel lagers.

The away end is a great away stand for all you that have never been to vale park, it's a good view and the noise generated from just a few hundred can sound very loud indeed.

Her families traditionally Vale but they havn't really followed them for years now. Her Gran who lived in Burslem used to have youth players lodge with her in the distant past. I live out in Madeley but first place we had together was top of Pittshill Bank, I could hear the crowd on a quiet day when Vale scored, it could ruin my day if we lost as well.

Honestly, Mr POV, if you can't beat us by 14 goals you should sack your manager and all of your players. And the tea-lady.

We have two good players (Hearn and Disley) but Hearn can't score away. Our goalkeeper lets in one per  match at least. Our defence always play as though they have been woken up in the middle of the night to do so.  We have no midfielder to go with Disley so once you are past him you can usually guarantee at least a shot on goal.

Our last two home games have seen us lose to Morecambe 4-0 and Swindon 2-0 so were not exactly looking a threat so i wouldnt worry to much at all if thats anything going by.

It could be a bore draw!!

I'd snap his hand off for it here and now!! I was more confident of us beating Spurs than I am of us winning this one. Bad times

Sounds like Vale are due a home win: Good old Grimsby up next, their luck is about to change.

We only live about 30 miles away and I'm having trouble filling the car (friends, work mates, relations etc, etc) shows how much we've sunk, was never, ever a problem before.  No one is interested in watching us anymore.
