I was going to watch AFC Telford v Gainsborough Trinity today, but the sunny weather has turn damp and cold, so I'm sat at home awaiting our game starting against Ashington.

Radio Humberside is on and I'm ready: bring on the match.

Humberside has just gone down (in Shropshire anyway):  I'm sat watching some Rugby on BBC 1 and drinking a Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweiss bier.

Radio has come back on as I write this: good.

If local radio ull DAB.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.

Why do I think one goal isn't going to be enough?

The radio suggests we are no better than these lads from Ashington.

I really worry about my club sometimes.

COME ON THE TOWN

Their keeper sounds like he's not having a good day, so maybe, just maybe we'll profit from another mistake.

It still doesn't sound like we are stamping our authority on the game, they've had some chances to draw level too.

I would personally like Bradford away because 1) I have friends there and 2) it would give us a realistic chance of progressing.

Happy with that. Get some more 2nd half, stay injury free and it's job done. All that's left is to tune in to the Fishy tonight and see what people have found to moan about

Not convincing, but you can't argue with 3-0 at half-time.

I just hope we push on and start to play some good football and the radio says we look like a decent team for a change.

Safe to ask who we want next yet? A Sheffield club away would do for me. Scunny home would be alright as well.

I wouldn't call it that.. Would pull a few part-timers in and would be a possible TV tie.

Because Duffy and Elding never play together? And Hearn's played in about 20 games and only actually scored in 3 or 4 of them.... So why not try something else?

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The most obvious reason for the change would be if Hearn had picked up a slight niggle. No reason to risk aggravating an injury when coasting in a game against lower division opposition.

No, you're right Johnny. Suppose it could've been a nightmare game (and many WERE worried about that), but ho hum job done.
Don't think I've ever felt so indifferent about a 5 nil win.

Sorry to move the debate into the gutter but surely there are better ways to exercise your finger than on a mouse wheel ?

Anyone know what the crowd was at BP?

I can never understand why , when we entertain a lower team , we get a smaller gate than usual. Surely our fans come to support town and not the opposition ? I certainly do and go to all the competitive games at BP. At a time like this we need all the revenue we can get and the most direct way is through our turnstiles .

Probably cause the ticket prices weren't reduced. I imagine a large amount of people weren't willing to pay £18 to watch a team barely above pub level, most people on here complain about paying that to watch BSP!

I always think its a bit disrespectful calling teams from lower divisions Pub Teams. I doubt we would be happy if we had been drawn against a Div 1 team and were being described as a Pub Team by their fans.

Bizarrely we have about 1500 St holders (I think). Each of those could have used one of the guest vouchers to get in for a tenner. There is always a way round paying 18 notes!

If you can only make a certain number of games a season because of: distance, work, money, etc, etc, you must expect people to pick and choose the games at BP they attend: one against lesser sides isn't a pull compared to say York, Mansfield or Lincoln.

It still doesn't make sense though when you consider that when we play Bath at BP I'm sure the gate will be higher than the Ashington one. Whoever the opposition is you support your team. For the next round of the FA cup if we had drawn Port Vale at home then the crowd would have been higher even for the same price.
