I had a tear in my eye leaving. Everyone in the top corner of the ponny did Rich proud today. Pretty much non stop singing and he deserves every bit. Truely brilliant

Woah, the atmosphere built in the top left corner was electric such a fitting tribute. I didnt know richard but i have no issue admitting i had a lump in the back of my throat. I know gilly and co occasionally get stick hurled at them for there drumming but today i dont think i have ever witnessed a more spine chilling atmosphere. Well done guys

i know ricahrds entire family, his mum and dad thomas and richard, and i admire thomas today, gutted but still chanting. i met his mum and dad for the first time in years and they was clearly devasted but still smiled. i was standing there ast the end watching it. very upsetting but well worth it, i was nearly in tears. and i filmed the entire show on my mobile phone. very sad, and im sure richard was proud

Any chance of you uploading it mate? Couldn't get down to Grimsby today and would have loved have been involved. He was a terrific trumpet player and will be missed. It really puts silly little problems in life into perspective.

I had to go round to the press box after the game and I walked into this! Terry Ruddram who used to be the ground safety officer came up to me and explained what it was about. He was obviously very moved by what had happened and after hanging about and witnessing events....so was I.

Whatever the arguments about team selection, who the manager is or whatever is going on in the boardroom....we are all part of a unique club. Grimsby Town brings us all together and today I was proud of being a Mariners fan. RIP Richard.

Was 280 miles away but it seems like the fans were a class act today with Richard's tribute.

See the Mariners Player video - Post match reaction.

Can barely hear Hurst talking due to the noise coming from the pontoon chanting Richard's name.

As well as the post match interview with PH on MP where you can barely hear PH speak, there is a shot of about 10 seconds of the top corner of the pontoon singing "Richard Broadley's Black & White Army" at the end of the Alfreton match highlights video.

Just been reading his facebook and reading the other post about what happened. It's shocking, gutting and makes you so bloody angry! getting myself into a right old state here. It really is heartbreaking stuff and it's such a cruel world we live in.

Didn't know the lad at all, had never met him, but it's clear to see by reading the sheer number of bday messages he got just a couple of weeks earlier how popular he was.  Nothing can really put into words how his family must be feeling right now, so I hope they find some comfort in knowing he was such a popular lad.

Well done to everyone who paid their tributes today. You'd have made him proud I'm sure and I'm sure it means alot to his family and friends.

I haven't had the internet for a while so sorry for the late message.

it was amazing the other saturday and I promised gilly I'd sing non stop no matter what, Rich would have loved it he was always one up for a good atmosphere! I lasted all the way until after the game when his family went onto the pitch then i started roaring, thats when it really did sink in for me   Devastated is an understatement. I've known Rich and played football in 3 different teams with him for years (i've paid for his name on the back of all our sunday league tops) What is happening this Tuesday sounds incredible and by the sounds of it the top left is going to be even more full Tuesday night, so hopefully it'll be more of the same! Wish he was here to see how much he is loved and missed. Gilly has been amazing through it all, how he's kept himself going and been their for Rich's family is nothing short of amazing.
