Was down at mother's in Derby last week, and went for a stroll into the city centre, where I chanced upon a billboard posting which indicated that Robin Trower was playing at the Assembly Rooms the same night. Having wanted to see him for nearly 35 years this was too good an opportunity to miss...and what a gig it was. Superb virtuoso guitar playing by one of the masters of the genre. The majority of the crowd, like me, were 50 plus, but it was a standing only venue! After the warm up act - The Idle Hands, who were excellent - I went out of the back door and got a chair, much to the envy of all the other geriatrics who were fighting to find a place against a wall somewhere to lean against.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.
