As part of a project connected to Grimsby Town I have been asked if I would be involved forming a ex Grimsby Town players association.
It seems that Town are one of the few teams that do not have this facility.

It is all about a bigger project which will become apparent eventually in the history of Grimsby Town through the ages.
ie the Fishermans connection over the years.

Just a little snippet regarding one of the stories can anyone remember Norman McKenzie who was a top skipper in the seventies his nick name was mad Mack McKenzie.his passion for Grimsby Town was incredible

Use to send us in them days telegrams wishing us all the best before every game if he was out on a trip, when in dock use to get taxi`s to places like Exeter or London Great guy and a first class Town supporter.

Who would you invite to be a member of the Ex Grimsby Town Association group.

To be honest Dave I think whether or not the player was a hero or was crap,  the most vital requisite of being a member of this esteemed club is that they (like you) are proud to say that they have played for the mighty mariners and actually want to be a part of this club.

I fully agree, I am involved in a charitable organisation with former Queensland and Australian Cricketers, and even though not all players can make themselves availble for all the "Masters" activities, the strengh of the association is the 200+ members.

Don't forget, Kevin Jobling, Tommy Watson, Craig Shakespeare, Stacy Coldicott, Kingsley Black  in fact I'd go for anyone with over 200 appearances for a start and then include those who just fall outside but were truly memorable.
