I see Town have slipped to 16/1 now AC has departed. Don't wish to be pessimisstic but the bookies get it right more often than not. Lincoln are now 16/1 aswell.
Luton                10/3
Fleetwood Town      7/2
York City              9/1
Darlington              9/1
Mansfield Town      10/1
Wrexham              12/1
Newport County      14/1
Stockport County 14/1
Grimsby Town      16/1
Lincoln City      16/1
Cambridge United 20/1
Kidderminster Harriers 22/1

Have the bookies got it about right or can Town defy these odds?

True, but I'd say we look better this season anyway.

I'd agree with that. The midfield should be much stronger than Cummins & Co, but that isn't a difficult task really

I got town at 16-1 a few weeks ago, before most of the signings. What did the odds change to recently?

From York down to us it's pretty much of a muchness, so I'd say the bookies are a little adrift York, Darlo and Wrexham more of a chance than us? Don't think so. Also think that if I knew anything about spread betting I'd find a way of buying Luton not to win the league or what ever it is you do.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

All three finished above us last season, Darlo and Wrexham have settled squads with a slight improvement, and York have made some very good signings, and arguably have one of the best defences in the league and were also a very good team once Mills came in. On paper all three have a better chance than us, but we all know leagues aint decided on paper.

Lay against it at an exchange (ie Betfair). Might actually do that myself as I don't think they're gonna win the league either. I think they'll finish 4th or 5th.

You don't necessarily need spread betting, you can go onto a betting exchange like betfair and "lay" them not to win the league.
But be aware if you do you're tying your money up for a whole year, effectively at long odds on !

Spread betting might be better as the lower they finish, the more you'll earn.

Would suggest though that all three over-delivered last year whilst we under-delivered. 16-1 is generous for us, but not quite generous enough for me just yet. I'd say that Luton and Fleetwood bot at about 3-1 with next group including ourselves all about the same, 10-1. All odds are though are a reflection on the value of the money being placed on a team, especially once the market gets going. Quite a few punters will not fancy us based on last season and us losing Connell. The reality is that you simply cannot compare how we did last season to this as we are a totally different team on so many levels.

Know more after Donny to nite. Thought was unluckyish at Barnsley and if we give them a good game to nite 16s will look generous.

As ever though it will be how we start the first 5 matches that makes the difference.

If we get a flyer like last year but maintain it this time 16 will be big. The confidence will be good, crowds big(for the conference) and we could be dancing down the Grimsby Rd come May.

7/4 to finish in the Top 5 looks far more attractive, especially in an accumulator!

And for those that don't understand betting, that means if you stake £15 you'll lose £15....

after lets say, a slowish start to the season town are currently 33/1

but the best thing is looking at lincolns odds to get promoted !

I'm tempted to stick something on Town NOW in case we start to Serge but will wait until I see us dominate teams like Stockport AWAY before I do.

If you're confident we'll win convincingly on Saturday then now might be the time for a small flutter (33/1 for title, 14/1 for promotion).

I reckon the league looks wide open but think Luton or Fleetwood (think Vardy looks great value at 12/1 with bet365 for top BSP goalscorer !!! ) will win it, but it's not impossible we could do it too IF we get that roll...

The Scunts to go down at 14/1 looked like a good enough bet at the time and I am happy with how they are doing so far
