This is not a post in which to gloat. But as much as you all are bitterly dissapointed you just have to thank the fella for his effort and goals, and wish him well on his move up the leagues. By the sounds of things you got a decent price so onwards and upwards. As ive said before its the nature of football. If you are any good a team higher up will come calling wether you be a manager or player (god we know that more than most). You just have to have the right contract in place to receive the maximum financial compensation or transfer fee. Players come and go fans normally stay for life.

Sincerely hope the exBoston boys do well tomorrow for you. They may take a few games to settle in but i promise there will be no lack of effort from them and i wouldnt be surprised at all to see Macca as your no1 keeper. Will read with interest your opinions of them tomorrow nite. good luck.

actually bostonlad you are 100% right, the amount of times posters (including me) have said sour grapes blah blah blah, when you lost your best players. When the shoe is on the differant foot its a differant matter. Well said mate

Thanks for the offer but Boston fan for life me. Im sure a new hero (wrong word hero, our soldiers are heroes not footballers) will take his place. For 90 mins+ we are all lost in the emotion of the game supporting our team, urging the players to sacrifice every ounce of energy for a goal. To win at all costs because it means so much, even more if its your local side aswell. But if its not to be, dust off the dissapointment. All we can ask of our team is to wear the shirt with pride and give 100%.
Your club should refund any fan that has put Connells name on the back or their shirt because they probably knew he was going before the start of the season.

didnt someone mention the club shop had run out of C's and L's maybe this was done deliberately
