Well said pete,it amazes me that so many supporters are showing amazing kindness at such a terrible time for micks family,us supporters were there for you pete when you needed help,The fishy is an amazing site,it makes me proud to be a mariner looking back at all the caring messages what people have placed over the last few days.

I'd also like to echo those sentiments and would also like to add my condolences for your own loss too

I don't mean to sound condescending or patronising (probably do though so sorry!) but losing your father as you've just done too can be really hard to bear....

My own dad passed on many years ago now but it was through him (and his dad too, my grandad) that I got in to watching Town and I still find things inextricably linked - though we can't talk about games and players like we did, in some ways just supporting the club keeps things alive so I'm grateful for that as it brings back some good memories (many of which are brought back by posts on here!)

From the day I was born when we beat Fulham till the day he died and we drew against Northampton....good times and as they say, time can be a great healer and as the old song also goes "You'll never walk alone" as long as you keep those memories close

Anyway what I'm trying to say (although probably falling flat on my face) is that everyone on here continues to be absolutely first class.....we're great supporters of our great club but more than that, we can be great supporters of each other too

Thankyou, that means a lot to me,my dad lived in shetland,i lost contact with him for 26 years, only got to meet him in the last 6 years,he left when i was 9 years of age,it left a huge gap in my life,i was so glad i caught up with him again,he was only 61 but was very ill and did well to last so long,i was so proud of him, life was not easy for him,i am a father myself now and know exactly what he went through.

I did not know you had a loss recently and sympathise with you and can relate to what you are going through with this and the icey sudden loss..

i lost my sister just before christmas suddenly and she was only 19 so totally understand..

the fishy is such a great website and this shows the mariners are a loyal group and i will say the best fans in the world..

well done to the fishy and grimsby fans..

i also nominate the icey thread.
