I'm sure some of the more "mature" posters, shall we say, on here will be interested in this. Just a shame it's only on the radio rather than TV.

They should re-run the proper old grey whistle test episodes on BBC4.

I've got one of the DVD Box Sets (the one with Half Man, Half Biscuit doing "All I Want For Xmas Is A Dukla Prague Away Kit") You can find most performances now on You Tube too.

Whispering Bob; the opening credits of the silhouette kicking at the stars; the great music that sometimes appeared; the "disappearing up one's own bottom" attitude of some of the performers; Whispering Bob's hair; the theme music - great gob organ music, on and on and on...not that I'm old BTW!

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

There is a gap for a decent Music show on TV at the minute. I think Jules Holland is the only one I like ATM.

BTW I dont count MTV or the like as a decent music show.

They dont show any actual music on MTV these days which I find a bit bizzare but yeah definitely room for a decent music show like Later with Jools Holland but earlier on than 1am on a Friday. They should bring back the white room on channel 4,pretty much the same as Later but with Mark Radcliffe.

The white room was class. Problem is, as much I like YouTube and the Internet, it has pretty much killed any real form of music tele. That t4 excrement is just topman/topshop wannabe cool tv and people can get to gigs and see gigs easier now. Prices are rocketing though soar be these shows do have a place in music.

Jools holland is good but he does have a lot of shite on at times.

There was a good article about the new radio version of OGWT.

It included a photo of Whispering Bob. It is fair to say he has changed somewhat!
