Ok folks.  As the father of a 9 year old son I am being dragged into using modern Technology etc.  Having already bought his main Chrimbo pressy I am looking for a second hand gaming thingy  X box, PS etc.  It doesn't have to be the latest model or awesome graphics.  Something I could still get games for and be ok for two players.  Am looking to spend about £50 so I don't expect the world.  Is it best just to go to a game shop or I am better off searching tinternet etc. ??

I am awesome at Space Invaders and Pacman though.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I'd go for a cheap PS1, theres literally thousands of games out there, so they'll be dirt cheap on ebay and many fun ones that have amazing multiplayers

i wasted a lot of my childhood on the playstation, and i enjoyed every second

I've had most console's and would say ps1/ps2 are the best graphical wise.. I have a n64 for sale but graphics aren't as good as Ps1/2

Civvy I'm afraid to say if you bought your son a megadrive or N64 he is obliged to beat you to death with a wooden spoon and I'd happily be his alibi.
PS2 for around £50 is a good shout look to get the smaller (slim) of the two as it would be newer than the larger variety, new games are still been made for it FIFA, PRO EVO etc but I'm not sure for how much longer. If any of your friends have a PS3 I would suggest asking if any of them have any old Playstation controllers they often get overlooked when they hand them in for a trade and can't work on the new console so you might get one as a freebie.

Am sorted now folks and am now the proud owner of a PS2 (cheers nephew).
All I need to do now is figure out which button does what.  Bearing in mind the last game thing I owned was the one with "Table tennis" and football. (Early 70's).  The table tennis was a paddle bat at each end of the screen and the football was a paddle bat at each end of the screen and one in the middle.  awesome at the time. !!!!!

Used the drive me mum mad.  Bip, Bip, Bip, Bip.
