My son has a load of used toys that we intend to donate to a good cause.
Obviously they will be cleaned etc etc.

How do we go about donating them.  do we just pitch up at the childrens ward at the hospital or does anyone on here know of other worthy causes.

the suitablility of the toys range from 4 - 8 year olds

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I think the hospital are all new toys - bought through donations not 100% though, this was how did it 3 years ago when my niece was in hospital.

St Andrews childrens hospice will take them:

Donated goods

Please dont forget that you can bring your donations of clothing, toys, books, bric-a-brac etc., to the Hospice at Peaks Lane, or alternatively to any of our Charity shops.  We always need good quality items to sell in our shops, so please remember us when you next have a clear out!

Unwanted Christmas presents are always a great source of items for the shops - so after Christmas, please think of us at St Andrew's Children's Hospice!

Gifts and Greetings Cards and Wrapping Paper

Call in at the hospice for a great range of gift and card ideas at very competitive prices.

All our shops and tea bars are totally run by volunteers.

Opening hours are normally 10am to 4pm weekdays and 10am to 1pm on Saturday.

Cheers for the above. I was hoping that some of the toys could be given directly to a hospice, hospital etc.
I would like my son to actually experience the pleasure of seeing the good that they do. And to see how some children are a lot worse off than others.
However, I guess under health and safety etc etc only new stuff can actually be given direct.

A few years ago we donated boxes of the lads toys to the hospital and the nurses seemed very grateful. (bring on the nursy jokes!)

Looks like my lad will be donating more toys than he intended then
