At least one local lad (and I believe more) has been killed.
Very young lad and a top top guy.
Puts my worries about Town on Saturday into perspective.
RIP JIMMY

Four others, and some wounded.
No prisoners methinks if they catch up with the illegitimate.

Two of the dead I used to drink with. They used to drink in the No 1. One whose name has not been released yet is only 18. The other (Matty) had now been named.

Very sad news civvy,
What makes it worse for me and the rest of the family is my granddaughters young man is joining up in February,
We hope its all sorted out before they send him out there,
Our thoughts are with the families and friends.

After 9/11 I fully supported the need for action against Al-Queda and the supporters of such terrorism. I, like may others, fell for the lies of Bush and Blair and the so-called weapons of mass destruction (spelt OIL); I'm ashamed that I did. Now I realise what we are doing in Afghanistan is so wrong and the loss of young lives is certainly not a price worth paying. There is no greater thing you can do for country than to go and fight for it. Sadly, this war is nothing other than political. Equally sadly most wars in living memory, with the exception of the Second World War (which really was our darkest hour) are political. In that respect, nothing ever changes. Politicans in their safe homes and offices send out brave lads and lasses to risk their lives because of the opinion polls, or oil, or prestiege but rarely ever for our national security. Any idiot can fight a war from 10 Downing Street or the Oval Office. The government are cowards. Politicans are cowards. Tony Blair is a coward. Gordon Brown is a coward. George W Bush is the biggest coward of them all. But the troops out there are the bravest of the brave. They don't deserve the leaders we elect for them. For all those who died yesterday, to all those who have died in this and all conflicts around the world: Remember them.

| Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

perhaps we could bring back the good old days when your king/leader led you into battle on a horse? i'd personally love to see George W Bush being forced to ride through Baghdad market place on a horse, maybe he'd get what he deserves

I agree with most of the above kotk, except I didn't believe the initial reasons or any other of whoppers told within the past couple of decades by the Lab/Con elite. Would be great to think Bliar will be held to account someday, alas this is highly unlikely. RIP to the fallen recently, especially as some are local NE Lincs lads.
