When I first started playing senior football, several of the older members of the team used to wear a jock strap under their shorts during a match; including a former GTFC player who was in my team.

Never, in all my years of playing competitive football have I ever even considered wearing a jock strap; not quite sure it would even be comfortable.

Anyone on here wear one for competitive sports?

Every time I play cricket.  WITHOUT FAIL.

I once played in a game where we were fielding.  Their last man came out to bat still doing up his pads.
(they had lost two wickets in quick succession).  The outgoing batsman commented, "hope you've got your box on, this lads quick"
The reply, "Doubt I'll be out there long enough to need it".

1st ball smack in the plums, ambulance called, the lot.  Since that day I have never ever batted without a box (and the jock strap to place it in).

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I used to play both football and rugby in a jock strap and of course one for the cricket box like civvy.

I used to wear one in the 60's,

Forgot after one game playing for town juniors to put it back in my bag,

So I bet one of town players wore it from then on.

You can get the boxer short version though now that you can stick your box in as well as cushioned pad for your thigh.
