I feel sorry for her- It's not like she's a criminal.. If you are from a small village in Africa you are not going to be offered expensive DNA screening free of charge ahead of AIDS treatment, Malaria etc. She had a fanny = she was female. That would have been the end of it- until now when the whole trial by gender thing gets played out in front of a global audience, she is branded a cheat and everything she worked for could have been for nothing. As an 18 year old her whole future as an athlete and a normal woman or man looks like going down the toilet. Would this possible gender ambiguity been picked up if she was born in the developed world? Probably. It's a very sad story.

Although we wait for official confirmation from the IAAF in November.
