I know it sounds a bit 'fiffy', but trust me, they are great and taken with a good pint of Real Ale, you can't go wrong.

but its always an italian BMT from subway, lettuce/jalapenos/onion/pickle/southwest or chilli sauce

Sounds daft but i occasionally like a sandwich made of fish shop scraps, especially in soft sliced white bread.
