Depends what you like at a game. A pint at half time and a chilled out quiet game of football sit in the Main stand. Good view with the occasional sing song Upper Findus. Atmosphere and behind the goal view Pontoon.

Grimsby's shopping centre is average.

Ermm not with your Daughter mind.

Welcome to Grimsby please wipe your feet. I sit in the Lower Findus the price is the lowest as well as the Ponny, if you'd prefer a less colourful language filled game the Main Stand is best. Lower is great though they do have a fetish about the linesman just make sure you get a seat on row D or higher no posts in the way either.

Nicoles has gone into hiding, it,s had a change of colour and name.
They must be trying to hide from wrabs.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.

I'd sit in the Lower Findus, good view and cheaper ticket.

To visit and get some idea about what gy/clee is all about try the fishing heritage centre.
It gives you a very good feeling for why grimmies are so tight knit but also welcoming to incomers.
You'll also notice the two towns are regarded as one by the locals, even before the council was merged.

Nicoles is/was a massage parlour but I doubt if they could actually cure your bad back (although they may take your mind off it for 1/2 hour or so)
For prices/menues etc best to pm Wrawbs or Maccabilk.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Which area of the great twin metrolopes are you moving to.
If your a real ale fan the list is very limited but is slowly expanding.
From blundell park end the purveryors go the no1. Which is alongside the no1 platform.
The no2 which is actually on the station concourse.
And it was camara pub of the year for b4 years running until the top town i.e. grimsby weatherspoons took it of them.
At the top of the station approach is the swasbuckle which used to have guest beers but i havent been deafened in there for a while.
It's a disco pub for the slightly older generation.
Next walk up the hill along the front to the notts you can't miss it it's straight in front of you an old fashioned three roomed pub that does a john smiths on hand pulled plus guests.
round the corner going dowhill you'll come to the smugglers real ale but not realy my cup of tea.
On the next corner is Willy's famouse for its willy's original and old groyne.
His brewery is just round the corner.they also do guests.
Strolling a bit further is the kings royal hand pulled and descently kept ales.
The next pub along and a good ten minutes walk away is the wellow it's a greene king pub so i think they may do a hand pulled.
Suprisingly the bowling alley does landlord.
Next along is the jewel in meggies crown the signal box. supposedly the smallest pub in the uk.
It's attached to the light railway station and closing hours are i beleive flexible.
Also the light railway does beer festivals on a regular basis. And i believe he is doing a weekend in october featuring german beers.
BY the way Meggies is a term used us grimmies for cleethorpes. Don't ask me where it came from but i suppose that some of the more knowledgeble members will know.

I believe that the top of Isaacs hill was "Meggy's" island many moons ago.
Not sure if that's true but I am proud to be a Meggie.

I read that the train fare in the 19th century between GY and clee was half a penny - locally known as a 'meg'. Hence people from clee became known as Meggies. Anyone else heard that?

Where to sit? Upper Findus. From about row H upwards you get magnificent views of the estuary and the shipping traffic, handy for when the football is dreadful.

Beers? Don't forget the Nott at the top of Seaview street.

Nope. The area at the top of Isaacs Hill around College Street was known as Meg's Island. That's where "Meggies" comes from.

Personally I'd rate Cleethorpes far higher than Grimsby to live. Apart from the houses round the Park it's not that attractive.

Busar street area thats within a stones throw of the mecca that is our homethe magnificent BLUNDELL PARK.
No need to move the wheels but on match days parking round there gets a bit iffy.

"Bursar" Street isn't it (that was the skool I went to)

But you're right - I used to walk to BP down Grimsby Road to home games. In those days you went past the Elecy and Gas showrooms and Eskimo frozen foods
