Was browsing You Tube this morning and came across this. Does this sort of stuff appeal to people on here? For someone who over his life has been an atmosphere junkie of the highest degree (Not sure why I'm a Town fan?) I actually thought this was brilliantly atmospheric. Can anyone help me to sort out the "terms" around this sort of music? Is this for example what is classed as "Euphoric". If so I can kinda see why.....

Yup, I know we've had this sort of discussion before, but that sort of music still has this 40 something yr old tapping his feet. I would quite happily go to that sort of concert.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I hate to rain on your parade gents but that was out in the early to mid 1990's so you might not be quite as modern as you think! Doesn't stop it being a quality tune though. Will have had a few million people gurning away to it during the 90's.

Not at all!

I was looking at it from a purely atmospheric point of view. This concert I think was 2008(?) which is fairly recent. Like Civvy I could get a bit of that in...

It is a cracking tune.I don't really like contemporary dance music but there was some great stuff about in the early to mid nineties.

That song is a great dance song but i wouldn't class it as euphoric. I've seen that song performed live and it was great but the best atmosphere i have ever experienced at a gig was The Prodigy seeing them was one of the best moments of my life!

Thank you for that. If it isn't Euphoric what genre of dance music does it fall into. I am genuinely interested...

That song, Set you free by N-Trance, is old shcool trance. Euphoric isn't a style of music really it's more of a way of describing certain music. An example of a euphoric song in my opinion is Adagio for strings by Tiesto and one of Calvin Harris' latest songs (i'm not alone)is quite euphoric aswell. Euphoric is generally used to describe trance music but it's all down to your own opinion really.

Just had a listen to that on You Tube but it definitely didn't have the same effect on me as the N-Trance thing. (Reminded me a bit of Kevin and Perry Go Large!)

In my quest for knowledge on this type of thing I picked up a triple C.D. called "The Very Best of Uplifting House Euphoria" which actually seems to have a lot of different stuff on it. I have to say though up to now that listening to it "cold" must be very different to being in some crowded club. If only I was 30 years younger!!!!
