Wouldn’t it be great if we could be a settled part of the EFL. Continuous incremental improvement, improving facilities, a bit of the old ‘punching above our weight’, a manager who doesn’t sound like a politician crossed with a second hand car salesman. The only constant is the 5000 plus loyal fans chucking good money after bad, following yet another cobbled together set of journeymen who are robbing us blind.

I have no idea what happened to the FA Cup money nor have I the right to know but, if it was all spent on this shower , then it was well and truly wasted. Four wins under Hurst, four under Artell. Even the manager seems to be wanting to prove that the summer window was wasted.

I know we’ve just lost to two top teams but we haven’t just lost, we’ve given them away.

I’m not sure what we have done to deserve this ?
I’ve had toe last  20 odd years of misery watching Town , being honest even the two Hurst promotion seasons were terrible barring the play offs .
Why us ?

I've just said on twitter, the club just wreaks of failure and we can't shake it off.
New owners, great cup run, highest league position in 12 years, yet we still smell of rotten cod heads.
I'm now of the opinion we need a complete reboot, get out of cheapside, completely loose all the backroom staff on the football side (including D.Moore unfortunately) and get a manager in with some charisma, allow him to build from a new base, its the only hope we have.

It's bizarre because I've got so many singular amazing memories but soooooo many negative excrement and relegations

And who is going to fund that?

It’s a curious, if not wacky solution to our problems that involves abandoning our training facilities and dismissing our physio!

I'm not interested in managers with charisma. Charisma doesn't win games. Newell, Holloway and many other failures have been charismatic. Our most successful manager of recent decades was charisma-free. I just want a good manager.

The guys who paid off other decent hard working staff who knew their respective roles very well indeed.

I think it’s absolutely clear that all this is Dave Moore’s fault.

That's what gets me about all this. Hurst, Pearson, Davies. All Defenders. But look at what they gave us this season, and two of them continue to give us.

Don't even start me on the goalkeeping recruitment......but what about the goalkeeping coach?

What do these coaches actually do to earn their money?

Why is it?...its all part of the problem, we need to move forward, we have stagnated, D.Moore is a great bloke, but he's a dinosaur now, method's have moved on, the training ground is a patch of grass surrounded by a farm yard warehouse abd portakabins...

Do I give a excrement, its my opinion, the club is copulated, we are perennial losers, we are yo-yo club with an ingrained feeling of failure.
There's more atmosphere in Kettles funeral directors morgue than at BP, even with 6000+ attendances.
Something, somewhere has to change, otherwise we will carry on this cycle for ever and a day.

And that assessment of our condition will resonate with many a Town fan but your prescription for our ailments - that the physio needs to go because he’s too old and ‘methods have changed’ (not sure what you’re getting at here) and that the training ground isn’t very pretty -  is like telling a patient with crippling muscle pain that he should change his socks and throw his hat away.

Thing is that, however much you disagree, he’s not wrong.

Your physio should be notable for the injuries he cures not the fact that he’s infamous for wearing shorts. Clifton apart, the only midfielder worthy of his own chant gets it when he kicks someone up in the air because that’s all he’s about.

Methods have changed that’s why the club employ Ben Mortlock as well as Dave.

I really don’t feel that our plight is down to a dodgy physio.

Need to look elsewhere for our problem

F**ks sake - this is even more stupid than the original point!
Physios ‘cure’ injuries do they?! I’ve read some tripe on here, but this is about as mutton-headed as it gets…..castigating the physio for the team’s ineptitude and the lack of quality midfielders.

Dave Moore possibly is a dinosaur whose practices are outdated, but no manager has seen fit to sack him, so I doubt it's that bad relative to other teams. He's in no way responsible for the players poor level of fitness or inability to pass to each other.

I’m not castigating Mooro at all! Talk about mutton headed 🙈. The point is that he’s iconic for what he wears rather than what he does.

Meanwhile over in Lincoln the countys premier team is on rise!

Record early season tickets are just 2 days away!( 4000+ todate),possible heading for the poffs and the championship. If not a very bright future under a new, exciting progressive coach with a young exciting team.In a stadium with an atmosphere and not a shithole of a ground.

£399 if you want to get aboard the Lincoln Loco thats heading nowhere near blunders anytime soon unless your granted a pre season kick about.

The futures bright and its red n white

Ben Mortlock is also part of the physio team, a bloke who has been part of our national team also. Also a former England futsal player.

The club is in freefall ,the fans are looking for a simple solution for the cause. In reality the reasons are much more complex and not just down to one owner. There have been years of under investment and penny pinching.
After the Danny Coyne and Jeavons episode we had a very bad reputation amongst players and we were regarded as the last team to sign for.
The club is riddled with group think and any one who expresses a contrary opinion are shipped out.

Dave Moore is the physio - he has nothing to do with how the team is picked or tactics but you, as a town supporter, should know that.

Someone asked above what football coaches are supposed to do? Even rhetorically.

Just reading about Coventry City manager Mark Robins,  he is regarded as an exceptional coach in developing some of their outstanding players,  He has really brought on individuals and the team.  Punching above their weight.

That’s my recollection. We got relegated in his final season (no fault of his) and he got a move to Premier League Leicester as backup to Ian Walker, playing a handful of times. It was a sad end to his time here, but I don’t remember him leaving on bad terms.

Jevons we indeed treated like shít, mind.

After the Sky digital collapse we tried to reduce his salary against the terms of his contract. We stopped playing Jeavons as it would have triggered a payment to Everton for over 100 appearances

Yeah, I’m familiar with the Jevons debacle, but I thought the club’s attempt to reduce / defer wages was something asked of the entire squad (and non-playing staff), as was pretty common at other clubs badly affected by the ITV Digital collapse?

If I remember correctly Furneux was very critical of Danny Coyne in the G.E.T.

We just seemingly can’t attract enough decent players, whether that be down to money, location or the managers. Probably a combination of the three.

Hopefully one day our fortunes change...
