Out of interest, why does the thread close an hour before the team is announced?
Wouldn’t it make sense to let everyone see who is actually playing before closing the thread. Why not close it 30 minutes before kick off?

I try to make it fair to everyone so I close it 1 hour before the teams are announced. Some people may not have access to the team news1 hour before kick off so would still predict early.
Another reason is that I record, manually, all the predictions, so having them in early helps me with this. This means that correct predictions, Time, 1st Scorer etc can be recorded during the game.
To give you some idea we have had 124 different Fishes make predictions so far this season; of which 91 have scored 1 or more points. It all takes time and I'm not a computer wizkid just basics.
