You could edit the post and make your predictions bold (as I did in your opening sentence) or a different colour.
Your reward for this dedication will probably be lots of posts disagreeing with your guesses, though. :)

End of the season is when the silly results start again. We could play teams who are already on the beach, scrappers at the bottom could really rattle higher up clubs.
I’d never bet on footy before October or after March.

Laugh out loud of course everyone will disagree with me, I didn’t save my choices so probably would never get the same outcome

Taking the mathematical viewpoint:
Sutton are currently averaging 0.69 points per game.
Over 46 games it takes them to 31 points
FGR averaging 0.74 points per game.
Over 46 games it takes them to 34 points
In contrast,
GTFC averaging 0.96 points per game.
Over a 46 game season, it takes us to 44 points.
Now, as the Theimperialcoroner said - we are approaching silly season. So, those figures will fluctuate quite randomly. .
However, I would bank on 40 points being plenty this season. My gut feeling is that Sutton are already finished too.

We've won 1 league game (against an incredibly abysmal Salford) in over 2 months and are bottom of the form table.
Add into it the lack of pragmatism and 'we are too good to go down" philosophy that seems to permeate from the top and I fear we are sleepwalking to a THIRD relegation into the non league abyss
Ps i am not anti Artell n would love it to work out, buy I fear the worst

At this stage, it doesn’t matter how we get over the line… As long as we do!
A third relegation to non-league abyss, would be catastrophic & cement our status as a lower end of league 2/top end of national league club.
If we do stay up, a serious investigation has to take place. This season simply hasn’t been good enough & we will see that with an inevitable drop of season ticket sales.
I’m as upset/angry/frustrated as anyone that we’re in this position. However, now has to be the time to pull together.

I put us to beat Sutton and FGR and lose everything else and we still stayed up!
https://www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?competition=4Embarrassing staying up with 35 points but I will take it
That ain’t happening. I’d say FGR have got a good 5 or 6 wins in them. We need to win games.
I honestly think we’re down, and it’s ruining my mood completely. God, I hope I’m wrong.

It's no good relying on what other clubs do, we have the opportunity ourselves to make sure we avoid the drop. It's up to Artell to ensure ' We're too good to go down'.

My plan would be forget playing out from the back now..
Let's get us enough points to stay up.
Then in the summer break bring in players who like that system.
After 6 weeks playing it every day pre season we will know what we are doing come the start of the season.
Come on Dave you know it makes sense.

Pile into the 8/1 if you genuinely believe it. It might slightly soften the blow.

Or Doncaster or Sutton or Colchester I would take 8 points from those games 2 home wins 2 away draws

We mustn’t lose to FGR
Despite us having the game in hand, Forest Green have 3 games to our 2 between now and our fixture with them at BP. We’ve got:
Donny (h)
Morecambe (a)
FGR have got:
Crawley (a)
Tranmere (h)
Wrexham (h)
There is a reasonable possibility that the veggies come to Cleethorpes with the possibility of going above us with a win. Slightly more outlandish, but they could already be ahead of us. Either prospect makes me feel a bit sick.
I don’t think it’s quite dawned on some just how much their win last night changes the complexion of things down at the bottom.

According to the form table on the Fishy, we're not bottom over the last 6 or 10 games even being as poor as we are
https://thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=4The Google form table has us 4th from bottom over the last 5 games
Which form table has us bottom, as its always good to see the full picture?

Saturday is absolutely massive for both clubs. Donny were tanking as badly as us with a couple of thrashings, but have improved with a win and two draws. But a defeat for them and a win for FGR drags them into it, with a draw in our game in hand then taking us above them on GD. Never mind the FGR game, the thought of defeat on Saturday brings on nausea with me

We won 6 games ago and 10 games ago
https://www.thefishy.co.uk/team.php?team=Grimsbyso just to even maintain our positions in both these tables we need to win again (it's like tennis rankings when last year's tournament is replaced by this year's)
If we beat Donny, Sutton and Forest Green that could well be enough though even if we lose everything else!

I did the predictor for the rest of the Lg 2 fixtures and it looked like
22nd - Town - 46 pts
23rd - FGR - 42 pts
24th - Sutton - 36 pts
Far too close for comfort, but the again I'm rubbish at predictions.
Interestingly at the other end Mansfield as champions, Stockport & Wrexham automatic and play offs Crewe, Harrogate, AFC Wimbledon and I don't know where this came from Morecombe.
Looks like a bumpy ride.

I've seen Donny seven times in all competitions this season and they've won five including beating us. The only other poor game was when they were at home to Bradford. The other defeat was at home to Everton and rather unlucky. I do think they have more in the tank than us but hope we get the better of them on Saturday. Big big game.

If that's the task then I think we will fall short tbh. Artell thinks we're both safe so obviously expecting FGR to continue being utter
excrement, it's a massive gamble.

Should be 3 up 3 down, no reason on earth it should be any different. Upside would be relegation not so terrible.

This is my big concern. Steve Cotterill has almost 900 games on his CV, 4 promotions, 0 relegations and a win ratio of 40%, which is some going over so many games. It’s hard not to feel that they are in good hands.
Alright, even Big Sam got relegated eventually, but do I think they have a manager and squad capable of outstripping us by 7 points between now and the end of April? When you consider the chances of us completely shítting the bed when they come to BP, I absolutely do.

I personally feel that relegation is likely. We need several more wins and I just don’t see where the next one is coming from. I also don’t think the players buy in to the manager.

I think there’s a scenario, and a quite likely one at that, where we find ourselves teetering right on the brink of, or even in, the bottom 2, by early March. What’s more concerning than that, is that I really don’t think we are psychologically prepared for the shock that will bring with it.
If we’re not careful, the transition from relatively safe to properly up shít creek could be frighteningly swift.

It depends on your perspective. I think we're up shitcreek now - I don't see anything that's going to keep us up because our defence is garbage and our midfield isn't nuch better.

My take is that if we find ourselves in the bottom 2 at any point, we won’t get out of it. Per my assessment above, I was defining “shít creek” as finding ourselves in that very position.
A win on Saturday is absolutely paramount.

Essentially, we have the play-offs with 3 games, Donny, FGR, Col U; win all 3 and we will almost certainly be safe. We once had a manager who was rather good with play-offs and cup games even though he wasn’t always the best for run-of-the-mill league games…
