Damn that defending from the wall makes me angry. Amos not close to the other dude and barely tries. Looked like he was just looking like he was jumping. Uually when you intercourse up, you either get angry or stop for a second and think intercourse, but he just walk off. Felt like "ah well" sort of body language. Not sure who was next to him and hidiing. Distinct lack of bravery. Don't get me wrong, I was a girl private when it came to defending corners and excrement, but that's why I'm not a professional footballer.

Edit: and that free header at the far post. Should a left back really be at the centre of the goal? I'd have thought he should be kind of in line with far post unless players need an eye kept on them, and the guy next to him should be on the other post ready to challenge someone coming in. Giving that much space at the far post is insane. Amos again. And he saw him as he started the other side of him. I'm a fan of Amos, but couldn't see him start next game after that. Efete or Glennon. I'd also go with Green over Andrews and push Conteh forward.

Yep that wall was shocking.

The wall was bad, but equally as bad was Rodgers defending against the cross that resulted in the header that hit the post. Didn't get close enough quickly enough, and then just wafted his leg at it.

The defence was all over the place for that attack, and Slough had three players coming in at the back post beyond Amos. If he hadn't got his head on it, there was another unmarked player behind him, and yet another coming into the box. Our whole defence got dragged to the ball and Rodgers ended up at right back. Andrews was just jogging back from midfield with three unmarked Slough players in his sights.

It's disorganisation like that which is causing us many problems.

Next time we paste highlights on here, please put a note when it’s a female commentator. 90% will call sexism here, but my good god……..

Out of interest, what did she say that grated with you? It sounded all pretty standard commentator stuff to me

I was a bit irritated by her voice, but no more so than some of the male commentors I've heard.

At least she didn't pretend to think she was the poet laureate unlike that gobshite Peter Drury.

Yeah her voice is mildly irritating

‘Female commentator’?! Did you really just post that? It’s irritating because it’s a female voice, or it’s just that her voice in particular is irritating? Why not just add the remark: warning - irritating voice. A bit like Clive Tyldsley’s.

What you posted mate IS sexist.

Nothing about the content, it’s the pitch of her voice, really REALLY loud and shrill. At the end of the day, you can have the best content and delivery but if your voice isn’t right for TV (or radio), you shouldn’t get the job.  If a bloke had the same pitch to his voice, it would be equally awful.

Fair enough, and I agree with you - her pitch and volume is hard listening, but saying ‘warning: female commentator’ implies that all or any female commentator will somehow be unsatisfactory in some way and you should prepare yourself. The truth is - there are some good commentators and there are some irritating commentators, and pundits for that matter. How we perceive that is a matter of personal taste. Nothing to do with gender. Surely you must see that?

I sort of agree in that commentators get excited as they play to what's happening on the field. Makes it more like being at a game because they add emotion that gets you pulled into the game more. But when female commentators do it, it's a bit shrill and goes through me sometimes.

But as presenters I think they're much better than the gob shite male ones.

You’ve pretty much said what I wanted to, but you’ve said it better!

I agree that the female presenters of football on tv, in the main, are really good, but most of the commentators fall short, in my opinion.

I agree that the way I got my original argument across WAS sexist, I just need to select my wording better, as I don’t consider myself a sexist. In this day and age, though, that might not mean that I’m not one!

All power to you mate, it takes strength to accept that you were wrong and admit it. None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes.

I like to consider myself as being perfect insomuch that I don't make mistakes and never admit to any that I do make.
