And good luck, but it was the right decision.

He'll always be a hero for a remarkable year but every dog has his day and it's time for someone else.

He leaves with my thanks for some great times over the years.

It's not worked out this season but I hope long term we'll appreciate Paul for everything he did for the club.

Last 18 months have been fantastic

I’m old enough to remember Ron Rafferty and others in early 1960s

Lauwrie McNemeny

Alan Buckley

George Kerr

And I’d put Paul Hurst alongside

Thanks Paul

That will be absolutely true so long as we don't get relegated this season, which is tragically a real possibility, and will have undone all his previous good work.

Lifted us out of the depths of non league twice. He’ll forever be a GTFC legend.

Took us down into once though and looked like we could be heading back again.

A day to be sad and happy in equal measure. Thanks to Paul for all his hard work and all the good times but this is football and it’s the right time to move on. UTM 🖤🤍

I'll raise your Ron Rafferty with Bob Crosby.

I wish it had worked for Hurst but unfortunately results don't lie. Wish him all the best I'm sure we'll see him again in the opposition dug out.

Two people I watch GTFC with met PH after one of them won a competition
Said he was a great bloke who had loads of time for a chat etc

I wish him every success whatever he does in the future

I've had several chats with Hurst, including some outside of football and he is genuinely a decent bloke.

Whilst I agree with the decision to part company I do wish him well and I have no doubt he can go to a national league club and do really well there
