Simple...  He HAS to go right now.

We need our owners to sack Paul right now, we are in a seriously dangerous downfall right now and not many managers would get as long as he has, it's not an easy decision for the owners personally as I know they have a strong quite friendly relationship with Paul but in this job that has to be put aside and the important decisions still need to be made.

Please please put Paul out of his misery , he leaves with all the town fans respect but we need a change and we need it now.

It's time now, 3 wins in 16 is no way near good enough especially with the bigger budget. Thanks Mr Hurst.

Agree with the OP. This can't go on any longer.
I can't see any argument otherwise I'm afraid.

Allowing PH to continue any longer as manager of this club would be poor ownership/leadership. Can't just stick with him because he's a good guy and fits with the values or the owners. And can't keep saying we were unlucky or deserved more from the game. When it happens this many times, it ain't bad luck.

Thanks for the service Paul. You'll go with my utmost respect. But Jason and Andrew need to act immediately and have either a caretaker or new manager in place before the end of the weekend.

Question is who do you get to replace him????

The team looks disjointed, we have an OK squad of players but who’s gonna be attracted to come manage us sitting 21st in the table?

That's what the club employ a CEO for and no doubt would expect from their link up with the Twenty First Century Group.

I’ve tried to be patient but I feel after todays result that Paul’s time at town needs to be brought to an end, I really wanted him to pull through this and turn things around (he needed that time) but the rot has set in, you can tell by the players body language and Paul’s interviews too.

Cringe at this thought "Better the Devil you Know" and some say "Ride the Waves" The ball is now firmly in the owners court for next move or statement on future please.

The next time we ask ourselves that question, we could be lower than 21st.
The problem is this reply will garner a load of X's and yet those X applying "fans" can't/won't say how to fix it. We are 1/3 through the season and if it wasn't for a few clubs determined to be worse, then it would have been already Goodnight Vienna.
I never realised till now you have to be a Lemming to be a Mariner fan. Extraordinary!

1 point in the last five league games. 21st, having played a game more than the team one point below us. 3 wins in 16 games. It's a crisis alright.

It's starting to remind me of when Neil Woods was manager and game after game we threw away points as the board hoped he would turn it round. The result was that we were relegated to the NL.

I really really don't want to see that happen for a third time. It was a minor miracle that we escaped last time. But for a rush of blood to the head by a Notts County defender 14 seconds from the end of the playoff game I think we would still be in the NL.

We must not sleepwalk into relegation again. So I'm afraid we do need a change of manager.

This is turning into a disaster for the club. If Hurst stays who is he likely to attract to a relegation fight as opposed to the summer when everything was rosy?

The only thing is to replace the manager quickly and let him make any further decisions and signings. Whilst we are struggling I still think we will get plenty of decent managerial applicants who would jump at the chance to work with these owners.

Think I would still stick with PH. Results are against us at the moment (and not helped by having a ref from RAF Waddington today)  but early season injured players back getting match fitness now. A feature of his game management has been to resist substitutions as long as possible. But that is his method. He has turned things around in the past - albeit not in this division. Hopefully the appointed profilers will sign some useful additions to his squad in the January window.

I don't suppose many will agree with your post but it is a very valid question.

No doubt we will be poring over the data as to why it hasn't worked out so far, and looking at ways to improve things in the future...

The only signing we made that could possibly be described as left field is Conteh, but there are so many moving parts in any transfer, the make up of the squad and how they perform in given situations with different managers I think appointments like this just muddy the waters. I'm sure Hurst had the final say but he has signed a lot better players than these in previous seasons and he must have felt some pressure to make this blokes salary worthwhile.

The best signing has been conteh and to be fair Hurst did give the recruitment guy a lot of credit for that one. In fact he even said after he's been signed and the reaction wa sso positive that he didn't know why that was the case, which struck me as a bit odd if he had identified him.

Within a short period it was obvious conteh had a lot of ability, personally I suspect conteh was a signing driven by the recruitment guy rather than Hurst, but it was one that looks good. Is it the case that hursts signings worked out less well (vernam being an obvious one as he was trying to recruit him before we got a recruitment guy)? Or was it the recruitment guys influenced signings didn't weave together well as a team?

I must have a different view from my seat but for most of the time all I see from Conteh is meandering in front of the back four playing in the main short or sideways passing.

Now there may be a good player there but I have yet to see what he brings to help the team defend or score goals.

Yeah, he's just like that other midfield waster, Didier Deschamps. All he ever did was take the ball off the defence and pass it to the other midfielders. How he won a European Championship and World Cup, I will never know.

Depends on if he gets a V good pay off.

He can sit there 18 months on full salary. Takes a job and that ends so won’t be in a rush.

For sure his stock is not so good if you look at the Data 😊.

He is on garden leave unless there’s been agreement to give him a massive pay off.

As it stand as with most sackings ( releasing the manager of his duty suddenly) the club will be in breach of employment law. A tribunal would have a field day.

I don't think he's utilised as well as he could be by us, as much down to other players as him, but surely you thought he was playing well in the first half a dozen games or so? He's definitely tailed off though. I still believe he's the player with the most potential sell on value  thats been purchased by the club.
