The heavy stuff will be this afternoon  but should make it

According to the met office radar most of the heavy rain has fallen a few miles south of BP so far this morning, and while there's still a bit of rain forecast over Cleethorpes this afternoon it doesn't look heavy enough that we need to start worrying about the pitch getting waterlogged.

I've delayed setting off from Sheffield until news from GTFC re potential pitch inspections etc. Rain very light in South Yorks. so travelling should be tolerable. My guess it will be on but I recall getting to Limber before I heard anything the last time I wasted £30 of carbon.

Colchester will have been in touch already unless they've sacked their SLO as well!

The rain was supposed to be heavier this morning but hasn’t materialised. Unless we have some biblical stuff again this afternoon and providing the dry days since have cleared what Friday’s monsoon brought it’ll be game on.

In a shelter on the seafront. Just had a massive downpour and there are torrents of rain running in the gutters, but it seems to be easing off a bit after 10 mins.

Still coming down, but downgraded from torrential to heavy.

Sat in Wetherspoons Clee high street it’s coming down heavy now , if it stays like this imo it will be off

UPDATE 20 mins later and it’s still pouring down

Would have to be a fairly early call if Col Utd travelling today. Been good drying weather the last few days. Booked on 1437 out of Donny so fingers crossed.

Sadly we won't know till much nearer kick off.

The biblical rain forecast overnight didn't materialise,  but is it late, has it missed us or as so often happens were they just wrong?

The game can't possibly be in doubt now, but it's anybody's guess later on.

Probably worth nothing that there was what looked to be some very extensive drainage works done in the summer, and more often than not waterlogged postponements / abandonments at BP in recent times have been amidst warm, dry weather (with sudden, torrential downpours being the cause).

All things considered, you’d like to think there’s a good chance they’ll get this game on.

I am DN31  area of Grimsby and we have had some rain but nothing too bad, certainly not as bad as predicted, obviously i don't know how Cleethorpes is but if Blundell Park was where I am then there would be no issue at all

We should be fine and if travelling from out of town I don't see an issue in setting off as normal.

Obviously however things may change and I can't be responsible for any of that!

The rain is now torrential DN41 and more than 2 hours of this if no covers the pitch will be waterlogged

Covers are on for definite. Think they get removed 2 hours before kick-off. Unless we get a typhoon, the game will go ahead.

Colchester can't have covered their's cos they've just postponed their U21 game with Charlton due to waterlogged pitch.

Rain radar on metoffice.gov.uk not showing any more heavy rain hitting Cleethorpes before KO and mostly dry during the game

Not rained after that initial downpour. Parent's lawn looks a bit patchy but I'd imagine the BP pitch is faring much better.

Club have done a lot of work on the pitch after years of neglect.

So it will be on tonight pity I can not be there as I think it will be a low crowd and a big win for us.  8)
