Looks like every train is cancelled (certainly via Sheffield through Peak District). GranthamMariner, me and my son were getting the train from Grantham (direct on EMR Norwich to Liverpool services) but they’ve obviously been cancelled.

Maybe not such an issue for NE Lincs based fans but Woodhead Pass is closed and the on going roadworks at Darrington on the A1 make the M62 route difficult too for those based a little further south.

It’s going to be an absolute pain in @r$€ getting to the game today.

I see the route via Leeds from Donny is a no-no too. Line flooded.

The M62 will surely be abominable too. Quite apart from the conditions, there must be greater chances of collisions, congestion and delays.

A1 shut north of Newark in both direction. Accident northbound just before Gonerby Moor (Grantham North) Services.

Looking like us Grantham based Mariners will have to go the A50/Stoke-on-Trent route across to Greater Manchester.

Not one game in the EPL or EFL called off today at the minute, that’s remarkable

It’s a bit early to be calling games off for waterlogged pitch when there’s hardly any rain forecast today unless there’s actual flooding like was the case with Rotherham last night.

I don’t see any reason why our game will get called off. I can remember 2 matches there in or following monsoon conditions and the game was played (JPT N SF in 2008 & last season).

If last seasons game could be played after the hour long torrential rain between 1 & 2PM then I can’t see how today would be at any risk whatsoever.

A57 Sheffield to Snake Pass currently open. Check AA site for regular updates.

On return bear in mind that Man Utd are playing at Bramall Lane K.O. 8.00 pm so keep eye on all routes to Sheffield south.

I aim to take Snake route leaving Hillsborough at approx 11.00. I have some spare seats.

I'm not going today but fair play to those that are a hell of an undertaking with the weather the way it is and I can't imagine our questionable public transport system will hold up too well at all .

Let's hope any of you that are going see a typical Hurst response and you's are singing in the rain .

Woodhead Pass OPEN via Penistone. Just one big puddle on a bridge then clear. Only closed from Stocksbridge.

Ive given up on the idea of going, train ticket nearly doubled in price overnight and preferred trains (times) cancelled or stopping short etc. Not well either so dont feel like driving, Cheshire south of Manchester area was a carpark yesterday and another big downpour later will probably create a similar effect :'(
