Anybody heard anything yet about Rose and Eisa?
Hope they are only minor injuries as Hursty said!

At least Khan is getting there. I wonder how close Wilson is to returning.

We really, really need Wilson back fit. The workload Rose has had to carry out on his own is too much and may have contributed to his recent injury. Hopefully, Pyke will come good in due course as well, Wilson is really the only other player we've got at the moment who can lead the line. Another grafter, from what I've heard, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Grafters are good but we need a touch of craft, composure and class as well...

Isn't Wilson's big thing his pace? We definitely need some of that.

The Sutton fan we know said Wilson is strong in possession as well as quick - I think he meant that he shields the ball from defenders well, so might perhaps be able to help link up in and around the box?

Hursty said that Eisa and Rose could both have probably played on Saturday if they'd really had to, ie had it been a playoff game or the last game of the season he'd have risked them, but with it just being a league game in September it wasn't worth it. Hoping they're both fit for Saturday.

However, he did say Mullarkey came off because of a knock and he needed to check on Conteh and Maher at FT but he's hopeful they are ok.

Wilson has been a week away from fitness since the Mansfield league game, so I'm at a loss.

I thought Hurst had said Wilson was nearly ready to return to full training, not playing? Could be getting my injury updates mixed up! He's certainly been out a long time now.

Yeah can’t remember Wilson ever being described as a week away from fitness.

Wilson was back on the grass with Khan, but wasn't doing ball work and his injury was a bit more serious than Khans so i'd expect he's probably been back in training this week

I don’t even know what his injury is

Calf or hamstring, forgot which one.

Month or so ago Hurst said Wilson and Khan were out with the above injuries and eyes were on Walsall for them to return.

Khan obviously missed by a few weeks, not a clue how far off the estimation was for Wilson.

He didn't say they were back on that date, he said eyes were on that, meaning that's probably a reasonable time to get them back in training. With any injury, you see how players respond to it and whether it's too soon. It's only when they are comfortable with basic will they be stepped up. You cannot put exact timescales on matters of the body when it's soft, squidgy and every person is different. You only know when you can safely start to step things up, and it would be insane before to even get them in training.

They will be ready when they are ready, and our attacking options are already slim. With Vernam out, we need to be very careful, because we want them to come back and stay back for as long as possible.

Honest questions -

With these lingering striker injuries, should Town take a chance on a free agent striker....if they are available and within the budget?

Is there any reasonable option still out there after the close of this window?

Would any signing made be worth it for more points gained?

Maybe the most sensible if injuries keep mounting up, but knowing PH he probably wont throw them straight in until they are up to speed fitness-wise.

Maybe - Gardner was sub last weekend & scored decent goal v Boston pre-season?

PH said in his interview that either Rose or Eisa would be back v Crawley - but didn't specify which one.

Surely just looking at their boots he should be able to tell which one ?

Not so - multi coloured slippers worn these days are not so easy to identify.

I think the decision to bring Andrews and Ainley was taken with this in mind. I don't think we would have signed them without the injuries we got. Same with Gnahoua, potentially. Prior to the injuries, Hurst was happy with the squad.

Listening to the PH interview with Matt Dean, it sounds like Donovan Wilson is about ready for inclusion in the squad.

We may see him for the first time tomorrow, fingers crossed.
