He's getting paid more than a million bucks per game. He wants to be scoring a few good goals!

I always remember what Gerard Pique said when he was asked who was the better player out of Messi or Christiano Ronaldo. Said both are great players but Messi has that X factor. Would tend to agree .

He’s no Peter Beardsley.

He hasn't got Beardsleys rugged good looks.

Zlatan still had the best MLS debut

Joking aside, there’s a compilation on YouTube of later Peter Beardsley, mid 90s mainly when he was at Everton. I’d forgotten how good he was. God knows how much he’d be worth in todays market.

Sorry, the link being that I think he’s the closest player to Messi (in style) that England has ever produced.

I prefer Gazza

I saw the MLS is on Apple TV and thought I may watch the odd game, didn’t realise it was an extra and £14.99 per month!

Seems like a lot of money for a fairly minor league.

But can he do it on a wet Wednesday night in Wisconsin

I doubt it. Wisconsin’s got a 7% state income tax rate. Florida’s is zero for Messi.

He can sniff out a goal, but he’s better at sniffing out an efficient income tax rate.

The story should just be:

Criminal scores a free kick on his Beazer Homes League debut.

Serial adulterer, tax evader cries mock tears in the stand.

The bball guy who didn’t die in the helicopter crash watches.

It is sad that someone who is all a time great like Messi has had tax irregulates. Same goes for Cristiano Ronaldo. Loosely on the subject of illegitimate matters when your as talented as they are temptation will come your way. Women for example will be throwing themselves at you( I know Neymar spoke about this in interview). They done this undercover experiment  for one when Christiano Ronaldo went for a coffee and they wanted to see how many times people would ask him for an autograph . Poor fella wasn't left alone.Point is when your blessed as a footballer as they are overt temptation will happen .Even the great Pele went through 3  marriages .

It’s a terrible life . I am suprised more don’t give it up and get a job in a fish processing factory.

Weird apologism for some fairly awful people there.

Tax irregularities? He’s a tax cheat! If you’re earning tens of millions of ponds every year, where does the temptation to cheat hospitals and schools out of funding come from?

Same with Ronaldo, if he’s supposedly got all these women throwing themselves at him, why the need to be a rapist?

It's hard to send off the forms when your route to the post box is blocked by a sea of page 3 stunnahs.

On the subject Of Cristiano Ronaldo I wasn't properly aware of what had gone on as growing up you idolise these sort of players(from a football ability standpoint) .Just reading some stuff on him though just now  it doesn't make for pleasant reading (initial post now deleted) so genuine thanks for further emphasising that point  👍.

On the subject of lust though that can be a tough one. Footballers do often fall for this even if they are married like in normal walks of life but the temptation is greater when your adulated by women. Stan Collymore although guilty of hitting Ulrica Johnston touched on this I note in his book. Women would be wanting casual sex and he had to have a  planner at different days of the week with differing women and some he was bedding different ones on the same night  :-/. I  have been reading football autobiography's and biography's though on and off for a good while now and some footballers are set up though. Kiss and tell are sometimes created by media just wanting to sell papers. In some of the world cup camps to be fair some footballers turned down advances from glamour women (as they had girlfriends and wives so respect). These women kicked up a fuss and it was twisted in next days media to make out and look like something had happened wrongly on the footballers part when it hadn't. I know its the footballers word against these glamour women  but it makes sense. Look at how the news of the world got disbanded over unfair practises on the Millie Dowler case.

You don't even have to be superstar level to have the women issues, I remember Nick Colgan and Tommy Forecast both saying they had women throwing themselves at them during their time here......

You can insert your own punchline...😁

Let's face it, if it hadn't been for the Pier, Bonetti probably wouldn't have hung around as long as he did...
