Okay, I am ready to start taking donations for next seasons "sponsor a player".

I hold £171 over payment from last seasons collection and Rob had said that he will donate £150 towards the cause, so a great platform to be started from.

I have emailed the club asking them for a list of players available to sponsor. Lat season we sponsored Niall Maher so I don't know if we want to sponsor him again or choose someone different. What do you think?

Donations can be made (amount of your choice) either via Paypal to lesbrechin@hotmail.com or by bank transfer. My details as the same as usual but if you do not know them, PM me and I will let you know.

I will regularly update this thread as to how much we have raised to date.

Just a point, if sending money via Paypal, please send it to "friends or family" not as if you are buying something, as then no fees are charged to either party.

Reply from Matthew at the club. Looks like Niall Maher isn't available again!!

Hi Les, thank you for your enquiry. Great to hear you’d like to sponsor some of the lads again for next season. Please see relevant details below.

Kit sponsor package (£525 + VAT) includes the following –

-   2 match tickets
-   Signed shirt from player
-   Pitch side presentation of the shirt
-   Company logo in the match day programme

I tend to do the pitch side presentation of the shirt as the players arrive at the stadium on a game day. It allows it to be a little more low key, and you get the chance to meet them and chat.

Available players =
Michee Efete
Anthony Glennon
Otis Khan
Danilo Orsi
Evan Khouri
Danny Amos
Jamie Bramwell
Aaron Braithwaite
Harvey Tomlinson
Edwin Essel

Available staff =

Joe Hutchinson
Steve Croudson
Greg Howard
Dave Moore
Shaun Pearson
Chris Doig

Please let me know your thoughts and if you'd like to proceed with any of the above on this basis.

Thank you,

Looking at that available list maybe even Shaun Pearson in his new role?

Thinking about the signed shirt  we could raffle it off to get some more money in Les.

£140 in so far. Added to the money I hold makes £311 and when Rob sends his £150, that'll make £461, so well on the way already to cover the 1st player.  :)

Make an enquiry to see how much it would be to sponsor the whole Academy for a season. We might even get a logo on the shirts if we could do it.

I think there are quite a few that are sponsored by family members.

Latest update £250 now received, with the £171 over from last season that is £421 and I'm sure Rob will be sending his £150 soon, so £571 to date.

Keep the donations coming though as it costs £630 to sponsor each player and hopefully, we can get enough to do 2 again this time.

Rob has sent his money and we are up to £591 now, so very close to our first player.

Keep any contributions coming in.

Keep any donations coming in  for this. We're still a bit shy of enough to sponsor 1 player at the minute.

We're up to £611 now and it's £630 per player to sponsor them.

I have also enquired about the possibility of sponsoring 1 full acadamy age group and just waiting to hear back about that.

That's great, if you don't get the rest of the money for one player, just hit me up and I'll do it.

Money transferred.
I am happy for you to choose the player(s).  :)
Posted by: Les Brechin, June 30, 2023, 3:21pm; Reply: 29
Right, that takes us to £651, so enough to sponsor 1 player.

Still waiting to hear back from the club about the possibility of sponsoring an academy age group, but I will email them again to find out the players left available to sponsor OR we could hang fire and try to sponsor any new keeper we sign.

How about as an aside, paying for Mr Graham to be a match mascot when he is feeling a lot better? Or if he doesnt want to do it, then look out for local kids who have done good things in the community or have overcome illness etc

The possibilities are endless.

Hi Les. If you can let me have bank details I'll throw £20 into the pot. Cheers

The club via the SLO have had free places for mascots. These have been given to disadvantaged families (for whatever reason) . I was able to arrange a place for one such family last season. It made a huge difference to the whole family not just the child receiving the mascot place.

Okay, latest update. If we are going to do 2 players it's going to be a bit of a task.

Current total is £691 so more than enough to sponsor 1 player, but still a long, long way to go to get enough for 2 players.

As far as I can tell, these are the people who have donated so far, if you have donated and don't see your name let me know.

I did get the club to pencil in us sponsoring Shaun Pearson in his new role.

This was the initial list of available players I got when I first enquired. As far as I know the only one now gone is Otis Khan and of course Orsi has now left.  Do we have a preference for who we want to sponsor or shall I go ahead with sponsoring Shaun Pearson?

Available players =
Michee Efete
Anthony Glennon
Otis Khan
Danilo Orsi
Evan Khouri
Danny Amos
Jamie Bramwell
Aaron Braithwaite
Harvey Tomlinson
Edwin Essel

Available staff =

Joe Hutchinson
Steve Croudson
Greg Howard
Dave Moore
Shaun Pearson
Chris Doig

Keep the donations coming in though as if we are going to manage 2 players, we're going to have to go some.

Stick with one then Les, my choice would be Khouri .

How about Dave Moore, plenty of publicity for The Fishy when comes onto the pitch.

Sorry Les, I think the one you can't match up will be £20 from me.
Posted by: Sigone, July 3, 2023, 4:24pm; Reply: 40
I would prefer to always sponsor one of our own, and Dave Moore is certainly that..but I really don't mind, just pleased that enough of us have contributed.
Posted by: AussieMariner, July 3, 2023, 4:37pm; Reply: 41
Pearson 1st choice for me, Khouri 2nd
Pearson for all he has done for us and the fact he is a supporter so appropriate for a fan forum to sponsor

Right, I'll give it until about 5pm tonight.

Who are we going to sponsor.

I'm all for Shaun Pearson but we've had other suggestions of Evan Khouri & Dave Moore. If I don't hear anything by 5pm then I will go ahead and sponsor Shaun Pearson as he's had a couple of mentions now.

Current total is £700 but keep the donations coming in if we are going to get enough for 2.

Dave Moore is a great idea if you can get the fishy logo on his shorts

Maybe even the new keeper considering he’s a local lad

Looks like we've totally dried up on this, so very much doubt we'll get enough to sponsor another player. If you do have a spare few quid knocking about then send it over and if we don't get enough for 2 I'll donate anything over to the YDA.
Posted by: Les Brechin, July 10, 2023, 9:32am; Reply: 52
Well, it looks like this thread has died a death. If you do want to contribute then please send your donation over.

At least we got enough to sponsor 1 player, but that was with Rob's £150 and the £171 over from last season.

Latest total in is £745. We have sponsored Shaun Pearson at £630 so we have £115 over at the minute plus any late donations that come in. It seems highly unlikely that we will get another £515 in to make up a 2nd sponsor so if we do fall short anything over will be donated direct to the YDA.
