Let’s get either Man Utd or Southampton ticked off please but we need the same approach as today, hard graft and scrappy play, Luton didn’t like that

I would be hoping for no 6 and that the home team would win the replay, we would be guaranteed a place in round 6.

Yknow what id take anyone now, today showed me this cup run feels special no matter who we get, dont necessarily need to cash in on a big club now, if we got through, the feeling that we could go through again would be just as exciting if not more so

After the fishy puns all programme on final score this afternoon.

We have got to be on TV for the replay .

Plus we are the lowest team left in the cup.

Just been looking at the FA site...

https://www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/fixtures

There are five replays pencilled in for next Tuesday (7th Feb) but only four of them seem to have a chance of being changed?

Am I thinking correctly that the Sheff Utd v Wrexham game is going to be nailed on for TV seeing as though it doesn't state theirs might change?

Or maybe the other 4 are subject to change because the TV companies want them! There is a potential for it to be on the Wednesday night.

its not a conspiracy, its the viewing figures that Wrexham will undoubtably bring in with their new found support in the u s of a! search fa cup on google and you'd have thought that they'd won that, the Americas cup, 6 nations and the Ryder cup all at once there's that much coverage.

its unlikely to be sheff wendy and Blackburn v brum is tomorrow. id say its down to tonight's game also. we're hardly a glamour tie to the neutral but, we are the 2nd lowest ranked team so who knows

All the other ties involve clubs with huge populations. Grimsby v Luton is the only one of the ties between two towns. It would probably draw the smallest audience.

Not entirely, Grimsby / Cleethorpes and Luton are both considerably bigger than Burnley and Ipswich respectively.

That's interesting Poojah, given what crowds they get. Ipswich is similar to us, on the coast out on a limb. It demonstrates the potential of a successful football club here in Lincolnshire with the right investment

Completely different - Ipswich is the only league club in Suffolk and the only one Suffolk has ever had. Same as Norwich in Norfolk. Nearly all football fans from those two counties will support those two clubs. It would by like Lincolnshire without Lincoln City and Scunthorpe ever having been League clubs. Remember Lincoln are as old as Town. The support in the county has always been split in 2 and since 1950 in 3 (and that’s ignoring Boston).

Isn't it 60%?

9 out of our 15 possible opponents either are a premier league team or include a premiership team and a replay is due.

At the end of the day, you have to give credit where credit is due. We are in the draw for the last 16 games in the FA cup.

Ask Liverpool fans how they feel. Gutted I'd say.

After seeing off Luton, Man U away.

I genuinely don’t care who our ball draws tonight. It means nothing until the replay is finished anyway. If it were to be a big draw then that maybe would help getting the replay being televised but I think even that’s unlikely.

To be fair winning 3 successive cup ties against opposition from a higher level and then getting a draw against another one is quite something

The media keep referring to the last time we made the fourth round but it only took one game to get there when we were entering the competition in Round 3

We might not go any further than this replay but credit where it's due I say

Get off your high horse. Its a excrement draw - if we get too it-  miles away, on a weeknight, which means time off work, a half full stadium

I’ve found the backstory / narrative…

The same guy who stalks Charles Vernam has (allegedly) got grainy footage of Stacey Dooley (Luton) having her paso doble’d by Kai and Tommy Widdrington (Soton). Kevin from Grimsby (Scunthorpe) finds out, switches allegiance to Town and that’s the backstory required for the Mariners to waltz past Luton, do a jive-by on Southampton and some-other-twâtty-dance their way to Wembley.

Lovely stuff.

I’m booking my hotel for Wembley now. Are you.

I saw a theory that a slightly lesser draw could give us the edge in the replay.

Given our run of shite draws it seems somehow fitting we’ve drawn the only side where it’ll mean more to Luton than us

Get off your high horse. Its a excrement draw - if we get too it-  miles away, on a weeknight, which means time off work, a half full stadium

We’ve had 5 rounds and not one tie has been glamorous for us.
And you’ll then probably allow Soccer Express to post on here advertising coaches only to cancel on the day as well

Not a happy camper?  ;D

However you slice it, we have had the best cup run for a good while and made a few bob. Look at the positives.

It's pot luck who you get and where, same for everyone.

Everyone said Luton was awful and we'd get beat and not sell out and it was flipping ace.

But it is pretty excrement with it being midweek. If it was a Saturday I'd have got a cheap hotel and made a weekend of it. As it is I can't figure out how I could do it without two days off work and the kids out of school or risking our lives desperately trying to stay awake driving home straight after it.

I think a big draw against Manu or another BIG club would have been a bad omen, take our eyes off the Luton game, think too far ahead and just be disappointed too much if you do lose to Luton. Stay under the radar and just keep mucking in

The only thing that makes this a excrement draw is the day it’s played. They’re bottom of the PL and will want to keep that status. Should we get past Luton they will see playing us as a good chance to blood youngsters and play some fringe players and we’d have a chance.

The only things I knew about Southampton were the football club, The Titanic and The Mayflower.

After a very lengthy trawl through Google…the only things I know about Southampton are the football club, The Titanic and The Mayflower…and Craig David was born there.

It’s got a population of over 250k and is in the top 25 largest cities in the UK.

No wonder they have a problem with recruitment. Tommy Widdrington must have thought he’d made it when he rocked up at BP in his M3.

The way I see it, if we drawn Man Utd or City home or away and lose the replay I would be gutted, but not so gutted at missing on Southampton away, win the replay, we have a chance against Southampton struggling for Premiership survival.

Anyway the dream final is still possible Grimsby v Wrexham LOL.

Couldn't be much worse really in terms of travel but hey how, its still tye 5th round of the cup! Anyway we've still to beat Luton and claim our 120k 4th round prize money yet which is a huge task given how much better away from home they are.
