Just noticed that the price of the Grimsby Telegraph has gone up again from £1.15 up to £1.35.

A couple of years ago it was 65p .... then it went to 75p, then 95p and then up to £1.15.

Cant see it lasting much longer as a daily.

Some family members  have bought this for ages and it's nice to read the sport section and see how Grimsby are doing in physical print as opposed to over the internet . Always remember reading  the newspaper as a child as well and first thing was to go to the back and look at the sport section. Having said that £1.35 is a bit steep for what it's worth.

The sports telegraph was brilliant and it’s a thick slice of my teenage years.
The problem you have nowadays is that journalism for the paper has turned into ‘ we tried (insert food, supermarket or experience here)…and this is what we thought! and finding the latest person to have lost a gazillion stone on weightwatchers.
It’s a very pale imitation of what it once was, when it was definitely worth reading.

.
I've been told that when Grimsby won there was a happy image of Harry the mascot mariners face in the old Grimsby telegraph. When they drew a neutral face and when they lost an unhappy face .

🙂

There certainly was. My mate always sends me a pic message after town games of him relative to our results.
Nostalgia eh!

The photographers are quick to the scene though. I got hit head on in town one Friday night and Duncan Young was on scene before any of the emergency services taking pictures in between directing the traffic!
