Glennon one of the injures and I’d say Pearson the other considering we have no defender on the bench?

Interesting to see how this pans out.

JT just said he thinks McAttee looks better behind a no.9, but have we seen him play as a no.9? No, we haven't....so, this will be interesting. I see Richardson coming on for McAttee after around 65 minutes. Hope this experiment works

Don't think Richardson was in PP's original post, so senility not to blame.

Also has Kiernan listed twice.

I think Hurst said two new injuries Cropper already on the list so I think Pearson must be one or he would be on bench imo.

Cropper was on the bench last week.

Cropper and Glennon are the only two in last week's squad who are not in this week.

Intriguing line up, sure there will be plenty of ammunition for either side in the Taylor argument at full time. Hopefully the wing backs have a good game and we can get a bit of creativity and good football going up top with McAtee. UTM

Just hoping for a strong start today. We struggled to get going from the off too often at home and played too cautious for the home team to be. Give the crowd something to get excited about and use that home advantage.

Posted by: Kris2, November 19, 2022, 3:24pm; Reply: 37
Lino bottles a shove right in front of him and ref a mile away from anything but always seems to be there for every light foul on Stevenage. I don't know why officials in this league seem to never want to give us anything when we are the home team.

Posted by: out of town, November 19, 2022, 3:48pm; Reply: 56
Other than Efetes mistake they haven’t really created anything.

Whilst we haven’t played brilliantly, Had we scored either the penalty or Khans effort we’d be calling this a tactical masterclass from Hurst.

The refs been a disgrace
Posted by: Kris2, November 19, 2022, 3:51pm; Reply: 57
Khan's effort was spectacular, unlucky not to go in after he made himself some space for a shot. Deserved to be a goal. Penalty was awful and as soon as he stepped up to take it was expecting it to be saved, he passed it to the keeper lol. Officials doing my nut in, apart from the penalty he had no choice but to give, we don't really get anything. Clifton shoved down in front of the lino at one end not given and then a Stevenage player throws themselves to the floor with clearly no contact at the other and the lino is waving his flag like he saw the worst foul ever committed. The Clifton one was way more obvious and not given so why the imbalance in what is given?
Posted by: 123614 (Guest), November 19, 2022, 3:52pm; Reply: 58
Why do referees in EVERY League, feel they have to explain to players what they can and can't do when there is a free kick or penalty.  First, they instruct the keeper, then the Penalty taker, if it's a free kick, explain to keeper again, then tell the wall what they can or can't do, then tell the free kick player too.  How many minutes do these officials waste in a game?
Posted by: WHYWONTYOULETMESIGNUP, November 19, 2022, 3:54pm; Reply: 59
There was signs of us growing into the game but the refs not letting it flow at all
Posted by: Chrisblor, November 19, 2022, 3:57pm; Reply: 60
We're set up correctly for this, they're playing a very high line and are so open to getting done on the break. The few times we've had them backpedaling we've just not made the most of it yet (Efete being too hesitant to play an early cross / Winning & missing the penalty / Khan hitting the post when just before McAtee could have played Efete in clean through etc). Hard to tell how the second half will go.
Posted by: chaos33, November 19, 2022, 4:05pm; Reply: 61
I can’t understand why referees fall for the tactics used by Evans’ teams. He’s been at it for years - falling over every chance they get, cheating, getting soft free kicks. You’d think a decent ref would be wise to it. Pi$$es me off!!

I guess it’s opinion but I thought he was vulnerable at times. Smith was solid as usual and I thought khan and waterfall had a good game too. But, motm should possibly go to Danny Amos (after a very circumspect first 10 mins) although it’s all down to opinion

I don't think the slip contributed much to the goal, had Effete stayed on his feet, the ball would have probably still been played to the bloke on the edge of the area who scored, who Smith seems to have left unmarked. Amos could have done more in stopping the bloke get past him likewise Morris in stopping the cross.

So unfair to lay the blame entirely and Effete's feet.

For me, we are in a much better place than under the previous owner. On the pitch we are competing at a higher level but still learning. We have had a bad run but this happened at the same time last year. We had hardly any close season and we started the season with the play off final still in the legs of the players. I am confident that under the new owners and Hurst we will improve. There is only 4 points between 16th position and 9th. Two or three wins on the bounce will see us shoot up a number of places. Two years ago I could see no future but we are getting back on track. It takes time. UTM

The answer clearly is YES!  We are better than last time we came up. Last time we hung on to L2 status precariously until we had that dreadful relegation season. I anticipate an upward trajectory on the pitch now because we have proper owners who are committed to the club in both heart and mind. Before we had all the controversy off the pitch, the Holloway debacle. I don’t want to go down the path of criticising the team, the management or the owners. I just thankful that the old regime had been booted out and I don’t want any negative stuff around the team. We can be disappointed in recent performance but I feel that the team will improve. No looking back to ‘the last time we came up’. UTM

So we are better on the pitch this season than the first season back last time . I'm talking on field performance as we stand , not next season or the season after . I already said the off field is in good hands .  ??)

Yes, in my opinion, we are much better. What sort of an answer did you want? It seems like you were inviting people to agree with you and say ‘yep, this time we are much worse on the pitch and the players are crap?’ What is the point of harping back and trying to encourage negative comments about the current team. Just be thankful that Hurst got us back into the FL after one season. You seem to be arguing for the sake of it. I’m not going back into the realms of the morose  negatively that did so much damage to the club.No point in discussing this any further with you.

You must have been at a different game to me. He wasn’t as bad but nowhere near MoM.

Just thought he was really busy all match. Maybe not technically great but was definitely working for the shirt.

I could've given it to Crocombe for some great saves but giving it to the GK is a bit boring!

I think he’s a decent full back but don’t think he’s a wing back in a 5. Given how he played as wing back at Salford, I think Harry would have been a better pick there today with Kiernan as the wide forward.

Nothing wrong with making a keeper MoM, Max has possibly been our player of the season so far.

Efete = poor
Mcatee penalty = urine poor

But … we were the better team over 90 mins and deserved to win ,
Whoever has Efete as MOTM has had a bang to the head , get it seen to

I only saw the 2nd half, but Efete looked probably our biggest threat. Put a couple of decent balls in too, but only 1 man in the box is unlikely to result in a goal. I'd have said he was the best player in what I saw.

Decent header at goal by Efete (under challenge) from a very good Amos cross too
