Changes aplenty with Maher, Amos, JMD, Khan and Simmonds all coming in.

I thought maybe 3 so 5 a bit of a shock, but it’s a strong squad, standards and expectations are high, and that’s as it should be. UTM

Looks an attacking set up - presumably 4-2-3-1 and suppose it could be either JMD or Khan at 10 and the other wide with Simmonds?

Is that 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1?

Looks like Clifton and Hunt in central midfield, JMD, Simmonds and Khan as an attacking 3 with Simmonds in the McAtee role, and Taylor just ahead?

Its a suprising lineup, I definately thought thered be changes in attack, suprised at ones like glennon but maybe he just thinks some need a rest. Interested to see the role that clifton plays.

Hope JMD does the business as i've been going on about it all season. I think him and khan combine well so glad hes gone with putting both in.

Said Saturday that Holohan and Hunt can't be in the same line up and stand by that.

I’m not sure it’s confidence with Efete as he’s seeing plenty of ball and not hiding from taking it, maybe he’s taking time to adjust playing against better players.

Efete absolutely awful defensively and pretty good attacking.
Symonds anonymous.
I actually think midfield 4 and Taylor are doing well, especially Kahn. Amos is doing well going forward and Waterfall is steady.

It's strange because we're 2-0 down but I enjoyed most of that half. I am enjoying watching that midfield 4 we're just lacking a McAtee and when we do go slightly longer Taylor needs more support.

2/3shots in the 1st half from Town, that's very poor for a home team. No drive from midfield just passing back and sideways.

The thing with McAtee is not just what he does on the ball but what he does off it .
He closes every defender with the ball down and will put a keeper under pressure from pass backs ect .
This doesn’t give them anytime to make a good pass and find a man , our strikers need to put themselves about a bit more off the ball
Posted by: Wiley2405, September 27, 2022, 8:39pm; Reply: 67
Cropper needs to hurry up and come back from injury. Efetes confidence has clearly gone, can’t defend for excrement at the moment and his ‘good spells’ going forward arent actually doing anything. At least with Cropper he’s relatively solid at defending and we pose more of a threat from his throws than Efetes half hearted runs forward that he checks backwards for the majority of the time.
Posted by: golfer, September 27, 2022, 8:40pm; Reply: 68

Amazing how the stats show us having the most possession, successful passes, more shots and spent twice as much time in their 3rd but we are 2-0 down. Shows how toothless we are and we really are our own worst enemy at times. I enjoyed that first half and felt we were going tk get back into it but then a completely stupid moment ruins the game for us

Weird half. We looked much tidier on the ball than Saturday but take too long to provide the vital pass. Khan has been impressive.

Carlisle have done nothing but pounce on two mistakes (fair play to them) while we've dominated possession. Crowd needs to get into it more.

Efete needs dropping but I fear for him based on the mood on Twitter tonight. Best close his DMs.

We're not going to score when we only have 2 or 3 in the box when we break and they're defending with 5 or 6. I've thought all game all 3 sections of the team look disjointed, defence isn't doing the same as the midfield and the midfielslds the same with the strikers

We’re just too slow, too often. I don’t even think tonight is the worst we’ve played but too many players slowed us down. Orsi needs to come in, he’s miles more mobile than Taylor and I’m convinced that’s stopping us stay up the pitch for long enough to get bodies forward.

I’m surprised Hursty hasn’t opted to take Efete out the firing line after it has been plainly obvious last few games the lad is very low on confidence and has stopped doing the things that made him a good attacking outlet.

Yes Cropper is out but an option could be shifting Smith to full back and moving Maher into his spot giving Efete some time to rest and regain some confidence in his undoubted ability.
