not the greatest start to the evening with all those injuries

Looks like Cropper will be at centre back.

Wonder why Pearson was overlooked?

Bet me to it Forza, took my thread down.

Start for Cropper and Pepple. Clifton and Amos starting as well and a strongish looking bench. Good to see Orsi and Khouri there as well as Braithwaite. You get the impression that Hurst doesn't think JMD can last 90mins.

I'm not too sure whether Hurst believes the starting selection is a winning one, there because of injuries & knocks or he's trying something new out.

Still we'll find out soon.

Cropper channelling the look of a young WWII recruit there. Hope he manages to throw in a few grenades tonight.

And a Sea Dart or Sea Eagle. Missiles flying in tonight, I hope.

Anyone got a link to the game, seen people banding around on twitter saying theirs a way to watch it through certain sites but it's not working for me (I do have mariners TV audio as a back up!)

One or both of Waterfall and (Emmanuel) Dennis might see red tonight - Teale vs Livvo style.

Dennis has a short fuse and Waterfall will stick his head on anything.

Listening on M TV. Not a lot of action more or less in sounding each other out. I don't think we've had a shot and they may have had 2 but nothing to worry Crocombe.

Just seen second goal, we wouldnt do that mistake in a normal league game so thats quite frustrating, just gave them a free shot essentially

Don’t need to read lots of stuff about how poor we are
Forest have just outspent most of the other Premier League teams on transfers.

I agree with you but all we've had are glimpses of an attack, which part from Croppers throws, have been nearly non-existant.

Green makes about 3 of those mistakes a game, just slightly further forward facing less clinical opposition.

They're miles ahead of us. Enjoy it for what it is, a novelty. Getting the ball from teams that are much more talented, riding a high and motivated is always going to be difficult. We've not even played well against L2 opposition yet.

Against a team in our league, not a problem. Against a team 3 leagues above us who spent more on 1 player than 1878 did buying the club, no chance.

Been outclassed by much higher quality opposition but really we've made things too easy for them.
Posted by: DB, August 23, 2022, 8:39pm; Reply: 41
I think it's time to give Orsi, Braithwaite and Khouri a run out in the 2nd half, to provide them with some experience and match time. Talking of which let JMD have the full 2nd half to check his fitness level.

Posted by: Chrisblor, August 23, 2022, 8:43pm; Reply: 45
Really don't think they're that good to be honest. We've gifted them two goals and aside from picking the ball out of the net after both of them Crocombe's barely had anything to do outside of catching a few crosses. They've looked a bit dodgy from long throws and we've lacked composure when the opportunity has arisen. Clifton who often falters when it comes to the final ball spurned a glorious opportunity late on in the half to play either Keirnan or Pepple in on goal with their defenders out of position by underhitting his pass. Quite frustrating we've not made them work for their lead

I dont expect us to win tonight, or even create a lot of chances but the frustrating thing listening to the game is how often we hear, great ball  x  is away, looks up and no one near him, no one to pass to..

We should be in this, made a number of half decent openings but not found an accurate pass. A brilliant finish and the less said about the second, the better. They clearly have better, quicker players, but we don't deserve to be two nil down. Fingers crossed for an early goal

Is what it is, bit of realism cant always be cup upsets, we gave it a really good go second half. At least we got to play a team in the cup that we were excited to play, nothing worse than a season where you get knocked out in both cups to teams like northampton and cheltenham.

Just feel a bit impatient to see the team start to gel and find its stride, onto the next!

Thought town did fantastic and was great show for a league 2 side.
The gulf in class was pretty obvious for all to see, the first touch and accuracy with passing was the main difference oh and the finishes where superb.

Well done lads can hold your heads up high.
