Not too sure how these new midfielders line up.  Will it be Holohan and Green and then Kiernan, Morris and Clifton with Taylor up top?

Tough game just got tougher but let's get at 'em and see what happens. Crowd can play a big part.

We don't have any other fit ones! Stockwood basically said Pepple waiting on international clearance.

This is very poor by the club. Not having enough strikers or in this case no strikers to shout about. Deep pockets and short arms for a couple of seasons now.

They've only been here for 15 months...

They could have said I'd have driven up to Grimsby and sat on the bench.. I once scored 4 goals for Internet Mariners against a depleted, old, hung over, 10 man squad of Chester fans.  ;D

Seriously though, I'm feeling nervous as hell about this game.

I'm surprised JMD is still not deemed fit enough to start, he seemed pretty sharp in pre-season.

Hopefully Holohan, Clifton and Morris can get around Taylor this afternoon.

Because we needed him for the playoffs, and he went on holiday to celebrate after and because he needed a break. He's a human and not a robot that exists to work 24 hours a day to please you, never met anyone who would give up a holiday to get surgery that wasn't critical just so they can show up for work.

We will be underdogs in every match as the new boys in the league, so our work rate will be important in every game.

Taylor getting too many long high balls - looks lively when it goes to feet.

Some decent work on our right flank, just needs some slightly better passing.

Smith iutstanding currently.

I don't care how old you are, so patronising lol. I'm sure when you were a young lad in the 1950's you wouldn't have given up a 2 week jolly in Spain with the lads to get surgery. You probably praised yourselves for crawling to work in the factory with a broken leg because you didn't know any better.

Good result against a fancied team who would have gone up last season if not for the Scunts letting seven in at Bristol.

Bearing in mind our short close season, and the huge injury list, it is great that we were able to compete. With more players to come in, and once some of the injuries have cleared we will be in good shape.

An improvement last week I think.

Harry worked his balls off.
Holohan, Kiernan and Smith played well.  Like that Smith didn't take any excrement from their defender.
Taylor gets fouled a lot but rarely gets a free kick.  He's a nice bloke and far too honest.
Should have had JMD on earlier.
Not sure why we waited to concede to turn the screw.  We put some excellent balls in the box after their goal.  Our tempo raised.
Northampton chap I met last night thinks we deserved the 3 points.  I tend to agree.
Referee was absolute crap. Worse decision during the head injury when we had the ball in a threatening position and he gives it to the keeper.  Absolutely woeful.

That's a couple of very tough opening fixtures for us.

If only we had the easy start that Stockport had, home to Barrow and away to Stevenage. Easy 6 points for them....... ;)

Doesn’t the rule state that the ball has to be returned to the player who has it in the case of a game stop for a head injury? In this case - JMD. The ref confers with the assistant and they give the ball to the f@cking keeper?!?! How on earth did they arrive at that conclusion?!

Interesting when you look at T. Parsons refereeing record over the last 4 years.
He has fished out yellows and reds averaging around 5 per game.
Yet today on what looks like his debut - none.
Looks like he has been told to calm down and ignore everything on his promotion.

You are correct that there needs to be balance on the forum.

Stockwood & Pettit have done a good job so far. A combination of patience, loyalty, media understanding and, in the playoffs, a little bit of hard work inspired luck. The only misstep being the daft and avoidable club badge decision. However, even I have to cringe at some of the posts on here which suggest the new owners are some sort of perfect business and football Gods who can do no wrong. Unlike our previous owner, I’m pretty sure S&P are probably embarrassed by this beatification too.

S&P are new to this. They will make mistakes. But from the initial 18 months, the club’s fortunes do appear to be in much safer hands than the last incumbent.

However…you have a habit of posting baseless, misinformed drivel over and over again. You never post anything positive. I bet you were disappointed when we got promoted.

Your body of work includes:

- Today’s efforts - everyone, from the fans to the owners to Hurst know we are short of quantity and quality up front. It is very difficult to find any decent striker at the moment, even if we did throw fees and wages at it.

- Your regular and bizarre posts that Hurst should be completely transparent about players’ injuries, therefore giving an advantage to our opponents

- These zingers on McAtee:
If this is true and he wanted to go  and failed  he should not play for us again untill some loyalty has been shown . his team mates wont be happy that he wanted to go either.. And what about the fans that have paid out good money for season tickets expecting to see him play in a decent team. Urines me off , every time we get a good player we sell them . Hurst wont spend proper money on a striker  so we stay down here in the pits of the EFL .and struggle just being also rans . We are struggling to put a decent team out as it is at the moment and reported to be selling our best asset  talk about shooting yourself in the foot

Any sane person would sign for sign for a team who finished 6th in the Championship last season on 3, 4, 5 times their current wage. Once McAtee decided to go, there was little we could do but try and get the best deal we could.

- Repeatedly calling Hurst a ‘midget, never was never has been Poundland waste of space’. This is the second most successful Town manager in my lifetime who is very well respected by everyone in the game.

I don’t know why you dislike Paul Hurst so much but you seem to be obsessed. Is it some sort of repressed sėxual desire?

In summary, I don’t think there is a clique. The reason you get so many red crosses is because you post such utter, utter rubbish.

Must have been at least 300 STH not there and not released their seats back for sale. What's happening with the seats behind the Directors box? they weren't full and they are not being released for sale - I assume they go with the £72 McMenemy's package. Surely they need to be released for sale if not all needed.

In reply to for once a well written responce ,
1  i was as pleased as everyone else that we got out of that hell hole , How the hell we did it i do not know
2. The point i was trying to make about McAtee was  that Hurst put his neck out and got him here and got his career back on track and first chance he gets he wants away .. Now i am not against anyone doing better for themselves  but to me that does not show respect for what has been done for him . In my eyes he could have said i will sign the new contract  to try and get more money for you unless that is the max you can get for me .
3 i dont think i have ever said anything about being transparent about injurys ever. I could be wrong tho i suppose but dont remember saying that .
4. I dont think i have ever called PH an out and out midget .. I have said we shop in poundland  before tho as that is what i believe
5 Aint got a clue about red crosses as i dont have them on and dont realy care , I see lots of posts on here that are rubbish from time to time but thats because we are all different and think different and have the right to think and say what we think .

This is a great post and sums things up brilliantly.

I post stuff about the owners because I don’t believe that they are beyond critique. They certainly aren’t vain enough to suggest they get everything right and openly admit that, whilst they are successful businessmen, that doesn’t guarantee that they become successful football club owners. They are learning and implementing solid business practices into a football that has been run historically badly.

And there’s the thing. They are starting from a low base, a very low base and they will always have that to their advantage. Good luck to them.

Anyone left in the game, supporter or professional that still thinks and believes in loyalty and or respect when there’s opportunities to better themselves is an idiot…

Depends what you mean by better themselves. In McAtees situation I feel 99%, if not 100% of people would do exactly the same. There are times where people may decline due to family, location or the fact they're settled. But if it's a big of a deal like this is for McAtee, then yes, we all would do the same.

Confirmed that McAtee needs an op and will be out for several months.

A bit bizarre this transfer.

Not that bizarre really....they would've known about potential risk with his shoulder. it's not as if it's a knee or hamstring or something that will have a huge detriment to the way he plays the game....his shoulder will heal

Agreed, we should have just sold him immediately, no need for this loan, we will be lucky to see him play over ten times for town this season. He’s a great player and I wish him well but the loan is pointless and probably knocked quite a lot off the actual fee

You seem to have incredible insight in to the ins and outs of the transfer deal - do you work for the club? Also great insight into the injury recovery time.

Are you Dave Moore?
