The Chesterfield and Halifax odds don't make much sense given Halifax are favourites to win their game.

Fairly meaningless, really. Wrexham’s odds are skewed massively by the money already lumped on them for promotion; likewise Chesterfield from when they were top of the league earlier in the season.

The notion that Chesterfield, who have been in poor form for months and are without their injured talisman, are twice as likely to get promoted as Halifax, who have home advantage against them, is massively counter-intuitive.

The only value in there looks to be Halifax in all fairness, but this play-off format of all formats is a lottery. Odds tell you precious little.

Strange odds considering chesterfield are utter dire at the minute, I’ll eat humble pie if I’m wrong mind.

Halifax at 20s are good value 👍

North is 5th v 7th so we don’t want to replicate it.

North is 5th v 7th.
South is 2nd v 3rd.

So 4th (Halifax) v 6th (Grimsby) would see all final positions reaching a Final across the 3 divisions.

Works for me.

Halifax have been outstanding at home this season — they really should see off a struggling Chesterfield at The Shay.

Notts Co v Grimsby is tougher to call. County have finished strongly, winning 6 of their last 7 games, and their home record is a little better than ours (which is pretty good).

We've not been quite as good across the same period, but we won at their place in Feb.

As a neutral you'd probably fancy them to edge it, but we've only lost one of our last 10 away games (at Southend) — and that run started with that win at County!

When we escaped in 2016 we only achieved 80 points from our 46 league matches.

We managed 77 points from 44 this season. That works out as 80.5 points over 46 matches.

So this seasons team(s) have done better than the team that won promotion.

Worth having a few bob on at 11/1.

The previous season we had a better team than the one that went up and one dodgy reffing decision going the other way we'd have being promoted.

A rematch of the 2016 Trophy final. Would be a different game if we turned up sober this time!

Personally, I think our best team we had was 2012/13. The FA Trophy run and snow caused a fixture pile up for both us and Wrexham.

We lost 4 in a row before Wembley & drew the 2 matches after. But despite that run of 2 points from a possible 18 we still managed 83 points that season.

Good shout. Think that was our only side to top the table.
