Dieseruvwe has been released by Tranmere, who've just released their retained list for next season.

He will surely be wanting to go out and prove a point over the next few games.

Whilst neither have had a prolonged run in the team, I’d be interested to see how many points his and Abrahams goals have got us, must be at least 9 at a guess

Whilst initially a bit underwhelmed by his signing, given a generally disappointing career goal scoring record, I think it’s fair to say he’s done alright for us. That goal at the death at home to Woking was massive in the context of our season.

I think he might get a rare start on Sunday.

Don't see him as an improvement on Lenny to be honest. Sorry.

This story features a picture of another player that Tranmere released: "33 year-old" Jay Spearing. The epitome of "had a hard paper round"  ;D

Bad back, arthritic knees and scored one goal in 20 years of Sunday League football.

I'd be an improvement on Lenny.

What signing on fee do you want?

It's like they accidentally used a picture of a Russian mafia boss who happens to support Tranmere.

I think he’s been okay but I’d be disappointed if we signed him permanently.

Hopeful he can sign off by having a big impact in the play offs

I would happily have Jay Spearing here. 75 games over the last 2 seasons and tons of experience. Also Nicky Maynard wouldnt be a bad acquisition either.

I'm quite surprised Spearing was let go in all honesty, he's definitely got 2/3 more seasons in him yet. I would imagine him and Callum McManaman would have been two of their highest earners, both released.

His loan spell has been successful but need an upgrade for next season even in this division

Although it appears he has been a hit in the dressing room with morale etc.

He is miles away from being good enough.

I would  be tempted to offer Abrahams a contract however

I like him. When he signed and there were the doom merchants raking over his record I said if he plays a few games and scores a few goals he will have been of more value than several players in recent seasons.
He doesn't really fit the Hurst back to goal striker model so hasn't started that many but I like how he plays, I think in the right team he is capable of scoring.
Certainly done us no harm and has helped our cause much more than certain contracted players.
Would be happy too see him back , wish him all the best if he doesn't.

Not sure if I'm being stupid but what happens now then? We're loaning him from a club, that said club releases him. Then what? Technically he's not on loan anymore? Is he now having to sign a short term deal to stay contracted to us through the play offs?
Posted by: Abdul19, May 15, 2022, 7:46am; Reply: 20
He'll still be under contract until June 30 I think

Although they have declared their intention to not renew his contract he will still be under contract with them for the time being. I think contracts end at the end of June in the EFL..

I think he has done decent ish and I appreciate his efforts however I would not be looking at getting him back next season as I hope/think we can do better.

I don't think we've seen enough of him to judge whether he's any good or not, the bit that I've seen makes me think there should be better available in the summer.

I'm more concerned that we don't resign Taylor TBH.

Two goals this afternoon (so far) but anything after today and the playoffs is speculative

Nice that he’s putting in a good performance today though and he’ll be an asset potentially against County

Hat trick today.

A hat trick is a good way to be in the manager's eyes, even if just as a bench place.
Posted by: immariner, May 15, 2022, 9:55pm; Reply: 27
Now has 5 goals in 3 starts and 10 sub appearances. 20 career goals in 53 starts (79 sub appearnces), aged 27. What a curious set of statistics that indicate there is a player there but has perhaps never quite found his level. Suspect he'd tear up the National League North

First career hatrick, pleased for the lad and has scored some important goals for us. Honestly, I think he offers more of a goal threat than Abraham.

After last weeks hat trick and the shops antics today…

If you had to pick one or the other (highly hypothetical)

Who would it be ?

Dieseruvwe, hes younger, 6ft5 which makes him an asset if we also have cropper chucking them long throws in, whatever hasnt worked for him elsewhere, its worked for him here so far, if were keeping taylor and mcatee then definately have manny in as taylors competition might do even better with more time with us. Then just need someone to challenge mcatee who can also play wide maybe. Im well up for signing him up personally.

He has been a different animal the POs. Not only his goals but his hold up play has been sublime.

So, so glad to eat my words.

His hold up play yesterday was immense and the way he lost his man for his goal was amazing desire and determination…literally writing himself in to town folklore…

After the Kings Lynn miss-fest I was thinking no - he's not for us, but last three games he's been like big Keith, looks awkward as feck but also awkward as feck to defend against and somehow just gets on the end of things. Also - he actually jumped for the headed goal yesterday - big Keith hardly ever left the ground...

Another point, we need to credit our coaching team - think about how many players have improved, both since the regime change...Waterfall and Clifton, and since they've joined this season, McAtee, Sousa, Fox, Amos, Cropper, Smith, Efete, Scans before he was injured, Abrahams has looked a better player this week as well.

Feels like maybe Mani had been missing a bit of personal coaching that Hurst has given him to help him unlock his goalscoring potential. Seems like a different player to the one we got when he first arrived.

On Sunday he probably will mark Kyle Hudlin (all of 6' 9")  in our box during corners/freekicks. Mind you I hope he can jump, he's only 6' 5"

Googled this guy earlier, he’s got some big clubs watching him and looks very dangerous from the YouTube video I saw.
We’re gonna need to be “on the ball” with him for sure.

He’s hopeless on the d cl and moves accrosd the pitch at the speed of a crab they have much better players to worry about then Hudlin

Is he a NL Haarland type?  Hopefully not. Key might be stopping good crosses coming in.  Better than at BP.

Wasn’t that hopeless at BP when he came off the bench and scored both goals

Wasn't anything special today, as one of the other posters said, we just need to stop the supply, most of the balls seem to be over the top for him to run onto.  Doesn't appear to be quick, I think the Wrexham pair were better yesterday... :)

He scored both goals for SM FC when they beat us in March, and let's be honest, we just can't defend crosses.
What's the betting they'll fall over easily near our box so they can have a freekick cross. Grimsby is running out of rabbits and hats.
He might move like a crab, but a very tall crab that scores. Nothing flash nor hype about Solihul, they are just well drilled. We dismiss them at our peril.

The moment late in the Wrexham game when Abrahams tracked back at lightning speed to cut out a Wrexham attack I would have given him a 5 year contract......then missing the target with a clear sight of goal I would have cancelled it again

Hudlin has scored 50% of his goals for the season against us. I'm not sure if that's a sign that we should be worried or a sign that we shouldn't be worried!

I think it was their slick passing and pace through midfield and out wide which were a bigger issue in the game at BP this season. It's still a game we should have won and almost certainly would have if Efete hadn't injured himself.

We certainly need to be brushing up on our defending of set-pieces before Sunday!

We are a different team now from when we played them before.  Saying that, It was the team I feared most during the play offs.  I suppose to go up we had to play them.  Still if we play like we have been then we can beat anybody.  Sousa will finally unleash some magic that will write him into GTFC folklore.

Oh, the sheer irony, if Souza does a Nathan Arnold at some point on Sunday and hits the target at last !!

With Mani to give Paul Hurst yet another poke towards a contract next season.

Different players from the last game in some areas, so it's game on !!
