Max Wright is a surprise but a pleasant one.  Hope his injuries are behind him.

Nice to see 2 proper wingers given how KL played at the BP.

Holohan not making the 16 (and Raikhy possibly to come back) shows the midfield depth we've now got.

I’d like to think the changes are not enforced, but just to rest those dropped.
I wish Max all the best as it’s surely last chance for him.
It’s nice that we don’t have to rely on others dropping points. But there’s still a bit to do yet !!

Happy with the changes especially Max. The players coming in will be hungry and they won't rest on their laurels like after the Chesterfield win at Weymouth.

Not a simple as just who is injured these days. With the analysis they do they'll know who is a higher risk of getting injured as well.

It will be interesting to know the rationale behind the changes after the game. Tactical? Players tired after busting a gut on Friday? Just wanting a fresher set of legs on the pitch than Kings Lynn? We have the squad I suppose, so why not use it.

All I’d say is this is the most surprising selection since Yeovil away, and that was one of our most comfortable away wins of the season. Fingers crossed for a repeat of that.

Posted by: acko338, April 18, 2022, 2:52pm; Reply: 24
Everyone needs to be ready to contribute, so changes were expected.

Resting players, saving minor injuries from evolving without telling opponents they have knocks, giving players who have trained well a chance - only Hurst knows the truth, and he has picked players who need to prove themselves, so no lazy legs wanted !!

The ref's been fine. McAtee looks like he's broken / sprained his wrist or lower arm so presumably will be out for a while. We're giving them too much space down our right because Maguire-Drew isn't tracking back. We should be 4-0 up considering the chances we've had. Numerous clear cut chances missed through poor finishing.

The Devitt injury was the last game against Burton when we were relegated. He was bossing the game up to that point but was injured by a bad tackle for which the Burton player was booked. He played on with his arm in a sling but had to go off.

We got the 3 points thats all that matters, weve found these types of away games hard all season so not sure why anyone thinks it has any bearing on how we'll do against better sides.

It was a tough listen but I think it was important to give more of the squad game time, if none of our bench have match sharpness they wont be any good to us. Seemed to have ball control issues across the board so maybe the pitch was part of the issue

3 points and can go into the next games with players like taylor and holohan fully fresh, well done town

Well, that, and keeping your best players fit. I’m chuffed to bits with the 3 points, but if that’s accompanied by a season ending injury to McAtee then it certainly takes the shine off things.
