Hate it when Humberside use the local commentators to save money. Not his fault but this guy obviously doesn’t know much about Town, with Andy Tillson alongside him who, while undoubtedly a nice chap, played for us about 35 years ago and hasn’t been back since!

It is very noticebale they can not instantly recognise the players, there is a lot of "Grimsby have the ball" "Grimsby have got it away" beforte they eventually tell us the players involved once they have worked it out

For once, we seemed to have very few problems beating teams below us.

So this isn't 'typical Town' this season at least. Previous seasons, yes!

If we get a point , that’s 4 from chesterfield away and now these , most would have taken not getting beat last week and expected a win today …. be more good and bad results for us and others before the seasons out … just go with it and get behind the boys , see where we end up ..

How dare you be rational

FT........0-0

And other results haven't gone too bad for us today as well.

Looking more like it's in our own hands (play-offs) even drawing at Weymouth and I would have taken that a few weeks ago.

I’m sure the players will know that, bit of a missed opportunity to ensure it moves into our hands but there you go, results around us seemed to go ok.

Not surprised cant fault the endeavour but typical of our season, fantastic away win then fail at a team with the worst form in the league   :o

And our last two results sum up perfectly the inconsistency of this team and this season and probably the main reason we could fall short by the end of it!

We’re a point further ahead of the chasing pack than we were before the game, with one less game to catch-up.

I’d file it under “missed opportunity” but also “not the end of the world”.

I've only seen one 'Hurst Out' post which might have been a urine take.

People genuinely get annoyed that some fans are disappointed about todays result. Not slating the players or managemnet or anything, but thats 2 points dropped in my opinion

A home quarter looks a big ask now, but consolidating 7th, Daggers probably the biggest threat given the the abject form of BHW and Bromley.

Exactly 2 of the biggest spenders top of the league and there unfortunately is the issue we have not having people willing to splash silly amounts on players (not that I expect them to) Money plus a decent manager speaks whatever league you are in.  :(

Weirdly i think 7th is a better place to finish than 6th this season, 6th place looks likely to get wrexham or stockport in the semis

Took him forever to get us out this division before and we are doing it all over again. He’s never taking us up this season as we are pretty shite and I have no faith he will any time soon. Someone else might but they have to be given the chance

We have a decent manager and have had a few other ones in the past, we’ve never spent big on players so I wouldn’t expect us to start now TBH.

What a c@ck...
Have you watched is play this season?..we've been far from shite, even today we played well but just couldn't break the deadlock, it happens, that's football for you!..
Given the sh!tshow Hurst took on he's built a bloody squad and with only minor tinkering I'd expect us to be fighting for top spot next season.

I’d be inclined to agree with this. I’d rather not have to play either of those on their home turf. Personally I feel 7th has our name written all over it.

I still maintain that would be a decent effort in our first season down here, particularly given the standard of the league this season. Anything beyond reaching the play-offs would be a huge bonus, obviously.

For complete balance, I think one day, when the time is right, there’s a debate to be had about whether Hurst should have kept us up, having inherited a team in free fall and disarray, but not yet in the relegation zone.

But anyone who thinks that finishing between 6th and 9th this season, given the massive rebuilding job which needed doing in the summer and through the season, is unacceptable or a sackable offence needs to give their head a wobble.

We’ve chucked handfuls of points away through a lack of firepower this season. God knows where we would have finished with a proven goal scorer even if we’d kept him on the bench for the requisite 70 minutes.

Alot of teams have gone down and not made the playoffs right away, and to do it with a squad built on the fly after last seasons disaster and subsequent clearout is really impressive. Only 3 of todays squad were here last season and 8 of the players have been signed during the season. As long as we stay on course then were at least 2 seasons ahead of last time we were down here. And to be fair with a squad like this from the start, this squad must be better than our play off semi final losing seasons surely?

True, but Dagenham gained 2 points on us and are as inconsistent as we are, so only time will tell if they catch us.

Our achilles heel this season has been struggling to beat the strugglers. Aldershot and Weymouth both on losing runs until they played us. Kings Lynn taking a point off us at BP when on a poor run themselves.

Well, we didn't lose at least, and Daggers apart, the other results were mostly favourable again.

It's getting to that time of year when you get strange results. County getting battered at Torquay for instance, putting them in striking distance of us now.

I'm still looking up, rather than down.

I'm not so sure about Wrexham - something not quite right about them with the goals they are leaking against poor teams. Their strike force, collectively, are clearly good at being "flat track bullies" against the weaker teams (wish we had one of those) in continually scoring more than they concede (providing the ref keeps playing long enough!), but I'd hope our defence could handle them - especially with the midfield we have now in front of them. Stockport at Edgely would be very tough I agree.

I agree.

Last time we were down here, Hurst and Shouty took over from Woods mid season and we finished 11th. The following season, we also finished 11th and it wasn't until mid way through the third season that we worked our way into the play off spots, which we would mostly occupy until we got promoted.

To get us where we are right now, in a much tougher league than last time and starting with the terrible squad we had, is pretty good going in my view.

Last week we were world beaters. This week the opposite. How can you explain such a poor performance?
There was talk of play-offs all this week as if we were already there. It looks as they thought Weymouth would be easy meat and the lads believed their own publicity. Keep your traps shut and concentrate on getting resuits.

Hope they got back onto the supporters coach safe and sound, 1 of them was wasted but in good spirit 😂 UTM

Definitely took my views to the extreme earlier but I’m sick of my club being shite. First game was beating Burnley in the championship, been nothing but terrible since (barring Slade second season, still failed) and a large proportion was with Hurst in charge. Why would you want more of the same thing that disappointed you?

Sick of being rubbish. Easy for the older guys to be happy when they had years and years of being a good team. Younger guys don’t know any different.

There’s people born within a few years who got to sniff the cake and had it pulled away, never to experience it properly tasting that cake while Scunthorpe did, and do a lesser extent Lincoln. Both smaller clubs than ours.
