Why is Pearson only sub again ( only defender on the bench - must be really struggling with injuries )

Concede anyway then only give all the class players weve got on the bench 5 minutes at the end

I am a little concerned that once again we are worrying about the oppistion instead of letting them worry about us, harsh on Scannell not to be starting but it perhaps indicate that Hurst still does not trust him much despite last week.

Positive is that Taylor is back, and with Mani and Abrahams on the bench we have options there and competition for places.
Posted by: Croxton, March 19, 2022, 2:55pm; Reply: 11
We need a good ref today. Borehamwood's bruisers will have an easy task taking the ball from Sousa and Taylor whereas Abrahams and Mani are much more robust. If Sousa can win corners and throws at least, then we can maximise from set pieces. He is unlikely to get far with dribbling along the touchline against their defence.

Not seen him play but why drop our only big striker against what I thought was a team of mainly tall players especially as he is in goalscoring form but then not that I'm too bothered it's 8.30pm here and well away on sri lankan rice and curry amd Lion lager (bash)

Understandable caution, what with Jacob ‘Mendy’ Mendy fixing things for them in the middle of the park.

I got hammered on here for suggesting Giles Coke was a handicap and it was like playing with 10 men when he plays, my garden shed is more mobile than him.
So, we'll see what happens today then.
If we play a blinder with coke in the midfield and he bangs in the winning goal, I'll be gracious and admit I was wrong.
Seems we are there for a point listening to it so far.

Really, really important not to lose these games against teams around us. Even if we were the better side, I’m happy with a point, especially away at a side with the best home record in the league.

We were the better side at home to Notts County and Chesterfield, yet got sod all.

Strongly disagree with that. The teams around us have an unreal number of games against one another in the coming weeks. We only have a couple more like that; the trick is absolutely ‘not losing’.

I think a point is OK but BW have dropped right away since they lost to Everton. I was surprised at the team selection though.
If you want to get out of this wretched league, cup runs are a distraction. Stockport, Bromley and Wrexham are in the FAT semi-finals. Let's hope for very hard games and extra time so their legs get heavy and  their league form drops away.
When we were in this league before we got distracted by having a run in this meaningless cup competition. Glad we are not in it now.

If Paul Hurst had been a bit more positive in team selection we'd be where Stockport are right now. It's ok to not lose a game, but it's 3 points for a win.
Most times it wouldn't of compromised us defensive shape either.
Kevin Keegan's Newcastle had it down to a fine art, concede 3 goals.....make sure you score 4.

We were the only team who tried to win the game. You cannot legislate for a keeper who did his job very well.
Some of our balls into the box were lacking in finesse but you have to be in the position in the first place.

Interestingly*, Newcastle only conceded 2 more than Man U in 95/96. History has judged Darren Peacock rather harshly.

If Newcastle would have kept a clean sheet at SJP, when they battered Man Utd, and lost 1-0, they’d have finished the season level on points with Man U…

…and still have finished second because Man U outscored them due to Keegan’s defensive tactics  🤣

Thought town looked the only team wanting or trying to win the game.

Borehamwood are likely where they are through grit and hard work which is to be commended but they didn’t seem to have many ideas and time wasting after 20 minutes at home, at 0-0 is the most non league thing ever.

Thought waterfall was excellent again, Amos got in to some great space and Smith looked decent.

Their keeper made two massive saves, especially after it looked like he was gonna bottle or second half after the abuse he got.

The save he made off MD’s shot was excellent and I’m still baffled how he got a full hand to it…
