Are you suggesting Mr FactsRight wasn't tickled pink by the thread?

Maybe he will accept a £200k discount in lieu of the Trust shares he profited on?

So? Your house might be up for sale. It's a private matter. That's why most people use estate agents.

I’m still confused, people were making a comment about the hyacinth bucket decor, no different to mocking a car or roll neck or style of a player surely?

No different to the comments regarding our managers height, his cultural heritage or people slagging off players without knowing the facts about them personally?

I would argue that even the thread on Twitter is in violation of their policies as it has identifying information:

I've seen a house for sale in an upmarket area of North East Lincolnshire. I googled the address and it told me that the person that has/had businesses registered there has a middle name that sounds like what Elton Johns mum might have said when he was making too much noise, "Sh Elton."

Seriously, a thread linked to another publicly available web page on the internet. People commented on its content. Tell me what’s wrong with that.

I bought a house right at the beginning of the pandemic. Due to the fact that that so few house sales were going through at the time, a local newspaper featured it as one of the top 10 most expensive completions in the area where I live (again, I repeat, because so few sales were going through, not because I’m some new money flash cúnt with a snooker table and an interior that looks like it has been designed by the same person who created the original set of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air).

It had a photo of the house. There were even a few comments from the general public. Did I like it? Not really, but what can I do about publications publishing freely available information and photographs? Absolutely fúck all, and I accept that. That’s the beauty of the internet and the modern age.

Rob, you do a fúcking amazing job in running this site. Genuinely, all those years ago when the forum disappeared,  it left a massive gap in my internet browsing habits and I’ve never quite recovered from the amount of masturbation I had to do just to fill that gap. I’ll never take The Fishy for granted.

But you can’t just censor the free internet. When you become a public figure, particularly of your own volition, you open yourself up to a loss of privacy. You can’t have one without the other.

And if someone can’t tolerate a bit of ridicule of their pelmets and dado rails, I suggest they have a word with some top flight footballers who are subjected to a whole lot worse on the internet, day in, day out. Particularly those of certain ethnicities.

People need to grow some balls.

Rightmove seemed happy to advertise the exact location of Phil Neville’s house:

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/news/articles/dream-properties/manchester-united-england-phil-neville-home

Likewise, Paul Scholes:

If he was bothered about privacy he’d have used a discreet vendor that specialises in large properties, not rightmove.

I know he’s thrown a wobbler on here from time to time and has made plenty of threats etc, not to mention the passive aggressive DMs he’s sent many of us but even he’s have to realise that other than saying people think his decor looks like a Grattons catalogue from 1982, that’s all it is, an opinion. Much like his opinion is he was a good custodian of the club…

Since I have been running the Fishy I have had complaints from players, players girlfriends, managers, directors, club officials, police, solicitors, fans, fans of other clubs etc etc. The one thing that people really get upset about is an infringement of their private lives. Yes sometimes the material is public, and it's maybe not breaking rules, but it's unethical to pry beyond the confines of someone's public role. Do unto others.....

The obsequious toads jumping on demand again, I see.

Not sure how much of a private life is afforded to someone who’s home address was a matter of public record and displayed on the Council website until he resigned “after his business dealings with a convicted fraudster were revealed” (that’s from the BBC, before I get served).

The same bloke who invited a town fan into his house to film him for a PR stunt, and I seem to remember at least one other official GTFC interview filmed in his house, mainly because of some gaudy artwork in the background which had some old crone’s baps out.

The thin-skinned one still prowls these dark recesses of the Internet then. Absolutely tragic.

Unless you’re referring to a reference about a television comedy show which featured many stark similarities to a certain someone…

Saying a marble floor is ideal for a splosher or keen watersports enthusiast is not a criminal offence.

At no point was it suggested that the owner of the property partook in such events but Tories have done worse things. What was it David Cameron did to the head of a dead pig in his youth?

Pull the other one. If Fenty wanted to keep it private he could have instructed an estate agent to not put any interior images up on Rightmove. You can’t have it both ways.

And for what it’s worth I disagreed with those saying the decor was 1980s. I think it was more early 90s.

And if John is reading this… remove some of the wood panelling around the house and replace the dated kitchen cupboard doors and you’ll make the small investment that would require back and plenty more.

Try Googling “John Shelton Fenty company house” and you can find his exact address as he doesn’t use a company office.

And of course Twitter are famous for rigorously enforcing their terms and conditions for cases of racism , discrimination, misinformation and bullying, so I imagine they’d clamp down immediately on information already widely in the public realm wouldn’t they?

And a bit of advice Rob, next time John complains just wish him a long, happy retirement with the £200.000 he bullied out of the Trust and tell him where to go.

His company office is still listed as 6 Humberston Avenue. He appointed Nick Dale as a director of his latest venture after he left GTFC last year and Nick uses 6 Humberston Avenue as his correspondence address for Companies House too. And the other director is Fenty’s brother who also uses 6 Humberston Avenue as his listed correspondence address too.

It’s bizarre.

That amazing looker/aga and then the early 90s style kitchen…nothing fits. Almost proving the point that giving someone loads of cash doesn’t mean they’ll be classy.

You’d have to spend a small fortune modernising it or decorating it. Can’t help but think of it didn’t look like that you could ask for a bit more…he gained 200k, could’ve used that…

He only paid £153,500 for it back in 1998. The kitchen clearly hasn’t been touched since.

It’s kind of reassuring to know he treated his own house like he treated GTFC… “it’s got a working kitchen, why do I need to pay money for another one?!?!?”

I mean it's got all the mod cons like an oven and a sink for the ladies he has in his life.

I would if he’ll angrily denounce anyone who views the house but doesn’t offer the full advertised price as a tyre kicker?

“Architecturally designed with the owners input to achieved [sic] an impressive residence of considered elegance”

He definitely wrote the description himself (allegedly)

It’s certainly a ‘Statement House’. A rambling, incoherent, Shiraz fuelled 2am statement (allegedly).

Yeah, if Fenty had died his kids would have just put “requires modernisation throughout”.

Do Day and Marley come with the house? Can they be removed along with the woeful decor or are they more of a permanent feature?

One assumes the snooker table goes? If not, it’ll need a good reread and balanced after all that sitting on it…

Looks like I’ve missed the fun.

Am I allowed to say that Mr Fenty has a nice garden, I.e. only detrimental comments are a breach of his privacy?
