PH says they are players that have been on his radar for some time and they have become available, so don't see a problem myself. I've no doubt his friendship with Clarke helped, but nothing wrong with using your network.
Both have been on the fringes of a side challenging for promotion in league 2, so probably want to go somewhere and get regular game time. Burgess has played more games than Amos, but isn't a regular starter for Vale. He does have some experience though and both are a good age and will be trying hard to win a contract.
Looks like geography worked in our favour for the other lad from Hull.
