Players have downed tools, they don’t give a excrement. Send all the shite loanees back including Hunt and actually spend some money and bring in some proper players who give a f.uck, rather than cutting corners with young kids who are used to kids football. Weak as urine the lot of them.

Good job there is not a brothel on the way back, they couldn't even score in there!

You've started the Just Back thread, tell us about the game.

How did Crocombe play?
What happened in the mix up for the first goal?

Towler, Hunt faded very badly as have the rest of the squad.

Bapaga not to be seen these days and Revan never been good enough so yes send the lot back and try to keep Bell for an extended stay.

These are all teenagers experiencing their first full season  in a very physical national league it was folly to expect the kind of consistency we demand from such players and to have 4 out of 11 in your first team is asking for trouble.

Starting to get worried now, the way these players have decided to not give a toss.

We have a problem and im not saying Hurst has to seriously be under pressure but the way its gone completely mammaries up is very worrying.

Is hursts obsession with loans and looking for the perfect striker starting to bite him on the behind? Some will say it was well before that.

Whether the early season team were really as good as we all wanted to believe is irrelevant.

The players believed in and played for the manager, now they don't

Cut out the infection now before it's too late.

Just heard from my lad he's still stuck in Stockport til 20:30 apparently there short of train drivers so big delays..

Our fans deserve so much more than we are getting..

Stockport had far more experience, fitness and physicality than our covid and injury ravaged squad. I hoped for a brave struggle to a defeat by two goals perhaps and no injuries. A schoolboy error gifted the first goal and slow reactions in our box made it 2 - 0.

Crocombe prevented at least two more goals in the first half but the game was made farcical by the sending off. LJL may be reprieved and only get a one match ban if Stockport give supporting evidence. I hope they don't.

We had a chance to play a different game to playing in to a big guy and picking up the scraps. Playing three at the back made us short in midfield and it was a struggle to get any supply to Bell. He might have linked better with Grant or Wright even if it was for half an hour. Tactics have moved on and left Hurst and LJL behind. Perhaps with more mobile options like Essel we could have pressed more and stopped Stockport building from the back.

Once again, there was a lack of leadership and organisation at the back. Confidence is very low but it is wrong to say the team has downed tools. We have assembled a group of young signings and loanees who look promising when we have our best players available but look exposed when under pressure.

Listened to Hurst talking about the impact of Covid as I drove back and reminded me of Holloway's pinings.
The media are clearly wary of asking the questions so many of us want answering so another droning non interview. If they won't ask what's wrong in the dressing room why not something like,

'Paul, you've just said you wanted to get a game of football out of the way so why did you risk Bell for so long and why didn't the keepers get a half each?'

Chatted to two teenage season ticket holders in the second half. Sad to see them losing belief in the team and also having to leave early because they heard their train was cancelled.

Why would the keepers have been given a half each?

i'm hearing at least 8 if not more got covid so not sure what we expected from today , i wont defend lack of effort but not sure it was that today just a reality of not been good enough against a good team

It's clear that Hurst, and most fans, saw today as a game to get out of the way, get minutes into the legs of Scannell ,Grant and Wright and chalk off one of McAtee's three match ban.

Add to that, to avoid further injury to players likely to start on Tuesday. Bell and Crocombe have done well since coming in but it is important to keep Macca 'game ready' if Crocombe gets Covid or injured?

I would even say that Fox could have made way for young Braithwaite in the last 20 min. I had to leave on 80 min so that might have happened.

Braithwaite didn't come on because that would have meant he transitioned from youth team player to first team player which could mean we have to play Tuesday.

Against one of the most expensively assembled squad in the recent National League decades, and under a new manager who has gotten a number of teams to promotion so very well knows how it’s done. We all knew once Rusk left, if they appointed a half decent manager, they could get them performing very well given their playing squad and resources.

Where is their money coming from BTW to afford the likes of Madden and Sarcevic - have they got a loaded owner whose happy to splash as much as is necessary to regain football league status.

Historically had a decent/large-ish match-going fan base too haven’t they if I remember right that will help with the back-rolling? Seem to remember reading of large attendances as they were climbing their way back to the league’s?!

Thought the Stockport Ticket office staff, and stewards were excellent yesterday. It was as if we were in an American Diner but felt more genuine.     'Welcome!' as I bought my ticket. 'This way sir' at the turnstiles. 'Have a lovely evening!' from the lady at the exit gate.  Whoever manages their training does an effective job.

Such a shame half a dozen of our drunken loudmouths showed themselves up before being ejected.

Agree re the ticket office and stewards  - they were excellent.  None if our lads were ejected though, they left of their own accord. Stewards said they had to escort you out - we left 20 mins before the end and were escorted to the gate - had a laugh with the guy too.
