One win in 7 games, luckily one was a cup game. It's a good job we've got some points in the bag. Mid table finish this season I reckon 😭

Anyone else think it's a blip?

It’s December. How long have you been watching football? Nothing is won or lost by Christmas. Anyone saying we would win the league a few weeks ago would have been just as premature and reactionary as you are now.

So it was all Hurst's fault when he came in just after Christmas last season?

Stop it with your calm and rational outlook you. It's just not footy. More hysteria and reactionary strops please.

What?

Many were saying Holloway was taking us down but by your reckoning that wasn't likely to happen come Christmas so Hurst came along and took us down.

Is that simple enough for you?

Spin it how you like we are not very good, probably because we keep changing the team for no good reason, meaning we don't have a settled team, over to you Mr manager.
We need to use the January window wisely.

We’re not talking about Holloway. We’re talking about Hurst. Everyone could see that squad Holloway assembled was way below par. Get real.

I heard and thought you summed up town for us. It's nice to hear someone speak their mind and not hide behind keys. Well done Conor.

Doh.....you made the comment nothing is decided before Christmas.

As regards to the squad Holloway assembled was way below par, I agree with you but will have to point out the fact that the squad Hurst assembled when he came in failed to beat the points per game total that Holloway achieved.

It's the first test of the new regime. It's all been going swimmingly until now.

I suspect that a few of the players are now finding out what it means to grind out results in this tough league, playing for a side with high expectations, who everyone desperately wants to beat. It's a different story when it's cold, wet and dark and the other sides are starting to hit their straps.

If these recent results had have been spaced out over the season, then it wouldn't be looking too bad from a points won stance and we would probably be on an upward trajectory, instead of downward. The perception has gone from way too optimistic, to way too pessimistic in the space of a few weeks.

I said a couple of weeks ago that the next month and a half could get ugly and we may not win many, if any games.

Think we'll have to tough it out until Jan, then try and strengthen for the run in and an 'easier' batch of games. PH will have to find a solution or his job will come under increasing scrutiny. You can only give a manager so long to stop the rot before a change becomes the only option.

Hope it doesn't get to that stage myself, but at the end of the day, all managers know it's about results.

Jolly good then. I think you’re either being obtuse because you’re cross and need to vent/argue, or the bigger points are just eluding you. This is a new regime. The club and its infrastructure and ethos this season is very different to that under Fenty/Holloway, but much improved.  We wouldn’t find a better manager than Hurst at this level and the quality of this squad is really very good - much better than under anyone in recent years. Yes, there have been some examples of poor decision making by manager and players and there have been losses in the form of individuals too, but really, people need to take a pragmatic and balanced view. You’ve been following Town a long time and posting on here for years too. You should be able to do better.
The NL has never been as competitive, and margins are finer than ever. Yes we’ve made errors but massive refereeing errors have influenced today’s result, as have the selections and system decisions.

The quality of this squad is very good.... Wealdstone(part time), Kidderminster, Aldershot ( 7 home defeats), Dagenham ( 9 players out)............ The facts do not support this.
Just a few draws would have been better but we have been abject and when I listen to the away games I expect us to lose everytime. How has it come to this.
I am not anti Hurst but he has done a poor job over his year here so far. I remain calm but even with a season ticket I will not attend mid table national league games if that is where we end up.I expect all guns blazing next week and nothing less. I hate the national league after such a long run in it before. You have to be winning in this league or there are just better things to do. Each to their own I guess but watching football with little atmosphere in the national league vacuum is soul destroying. Hurst has to sort this and rapidly
