In memory  of Jock Dock Tower I have had a £3 bet on Auchinleck Talbot, home to Hamilton in the Scottish Cup.
They were 3 to 1 so I don't think I have much chance, but they did quite well in the cup when Jock was a!ive.

The FA trophy is also being played and unless I am wrong we will be in the next round; we have a spare date on December the 18th, when the next round is.

If we don't make it then my definite preference would be for Wrexham and Stockport to go up as it looks like they both have bottomless pits in terms of budget. Without those two distorting the league we have a much better chance.

Hopefully we can turn our form around and it'll be academic.

Well that was a fairly difficult watch. The game ended 1 all with Darvel taking a first half lead and Brechin equalising in the 2nd half so it all back to Darvel (wherever that is, for the replay). The standard of football at times though was bloody awful!

Gets his ankle trodden on by his own teammate, rolls around like he’s lost a limb and Arsenal score.

United then start squealing like a broken kettle.

Shades of mad Gav Gunning getting sparked out against Wycombe a few years back and the game carrying on whilst he was out cold on the floor, Town's players naturally only half-concentrating on the ball. Difference being that Gunning got stretchered off still fast asleep and the rules of the game state that play should have been stopped immediately; De Gea has a poorly toe.

1:45 for reference.

I don't think that was the game I am thinking of, it was home to I thought Bristol Rovers, when one of our centre backs was also laid on the ground and their big striker just strolled past him and scored.

I think it was Mick Taylor's last game as announcer, when he said, "Congratulations to [Junior Ogogo?], for scoring the most unsporting goal of the season.

I seem to recall that it was Uriah Rennie reffing that day, and Mick’s words as the players left the field at half-time were “Join us after the break for the second half of the Uriah Rennie show”.

I think that may have been the comment that did for him, funny though it was.

There was a famous game in the 70's when Leeds Utd thrashed someone (can't remember who) and they were showboating and humiliating the opposition relentlessly. Add to that their stupid little numbered sock tags and their propensity to take turns inflicting GBH on any opposition they feared might beat them and that is why I can't stand Leeds Utd and their knob head fans.

Them getting thrashed by Man City was highly amusing, especially as my nieces old man is a Leeds fan and I can imagine him sat squirming while watching it.

A striker I have been keeping an eye on is Alfie Rutherford who plays for Dorking Wanderers in the National League South. They are in about the same position as Kidderminster are in the North Division and he has scored 19 goals in the league and FA Cup..

He scores the first goal in this video against Southend in the FA Cup;

Chesterfield now 3 points clear at the top of the table and a full 11 points above us.

And we haven't got many games in hand which surprised me, unless we go a run of win 2 lose 1, as an average, we'll be lucky to get in those play offs...

Hadn’t realised Marcus Bettinelli was at Chelsea. Strange career. Best remembered at BP for letting in a howler of a third in our 3-0 Trophy semi-final win against Dartford in 2013.

Non league etiquette is to cheer on our brethren against the evil Premier League behemoths isn't it? Because as much as I dislike Chelsea I am now hoping for double figures.

Some great results in the fa cup today, bringing the magic back to it and all that. Am sure there will be a few sore heads in the players/supporters ranks of Cambridge, Kidderminster et al. Just a tad bit jealous. There’s something about the fa cup that makes me always want to be a part of it

After our 7-1 thrashing we went down to unbeaten Exeter (top of the table or thereabout) and beat then 3-1.so hopefully they won't do that in their next game.

Always have a chuckle when Premier League teams lose to lower division opposition. Surprised that there has been no mention (that I've seen) that the scorer of Cambridge's winner was a GTFC reject. Almost as surprised as the fact that a lad who looked a willing enough runner, but no more, seems to have turned himself into a decent 3rd tier striker over the past half dozen years!

I thought I must be going senile. I was sure he came here on trial one pre-season from Sheffield United but it doesn't seem to say that on his Wiki page. Paul Hurst didn't think he was good enough :(

Well at the time we had Bogle & Amond, and he ended up in the Conference north until last year.

Anyway, just seen Chesterfield’s goal from yesterday. Each to their own but I wouldn’t be going mental like their fans for a consolation tap in at 5-0. All the coverage equally as patronising, oooooh what a privilege to be allowed to score against the mighty Chelsea. Tragic

When I saw the Chesterfield goal and the long ball from the keeper I was expecting an almost carbon copy of Green’s for us there but Tshimanga obviously isn’t anywhere near his quality and laid it off for someone else.

Loved that result. Humiliation of any Premier League club is always welcome. especially one with that ownership...

I think I enjoy Arsenal getting dumped out the cups more than any other club (AFTV, one of the most delusional fan bases in the country in general and somehow managing to get an invite to the ESL). Which is good because it happens so regularly.

Likewise Brighton playing Chelsea off the park last night. I have a hard time seeing club status’ differently to my early 90s formative years watching Town, so in my mind the likes of Cambridge, Southend and Swindon are all still much bigger clubs than Brighton, Burnley and Brentford.

Now getting dícked 3-0 - it’s tough at the top.

Spurs leave it late to come back from 2-1 down away at Leicester; scoring on 90+5 and 90+7.

Bergwein gets booked for Tottenham then 5 mins later scores a  96th min winner. Jumps over the boards into the spurs fans to celebrate. NO 2nd yellow card.   :-/

Brentford's finishing during that first half when one-on-one was about as weak as you'll see at the top level. Reminded me of GTFC for most of the past few months, in fact.

I think the goalie had to be more decisive for the first goal too
