Taylor and Efete missing.  Otherwise, it's still a strong side.

Good to see both Wright and Sousa available too. Some great attacking options to bring on if and when needed.

Taylor was the one I knew about, which is a blow, as he's been excellent so far. Let's hope Lenny has his shooting boots on.

Goals more likely to come from Bapaga and McAtee I think.

Good job he got a full run out last weekend. Got the option to go Bapaga up front with Sousa on the right if it’s not working out.

Got caught in a tropical storm and was befriended by these two aptly-coloured canines.  Sorry about the bad pic but they were like G.T.F.C squad members - they wouldn't stand still.

I think Mcatee might get a couple and after that, anybody could score. We have goal scores all over the pitch so who knows who will chip in with another. ;) ;)

LJL doesn't need to score for us to win. He can hastle and bustle and hold play up for the others.

We're not playing well compared to what we're used to at the moment, but we're winning.

I think we might see Sousa or Revan come on at half time, if not i don't think we'll have to wait long for one of them.

You would think Yeovil were top, team is totally of today and Lennie looking anything but national league level, sorry but he needs swapping.
Posted by: Davec, October 23, 2021, 3:56pm; Reply: 36
hopefully we can pick it up 2nd half, grinding out wins when not playing well is a sign of a good team.

we can't play well every game but when we don't it is important to still find a way to win if possible.
Posted by: chipsandgravy, October 23, 2021, 3:58pm; Reply: 37
Have always been impressed with Taylor's link up play up front and we seem to be missing that today.
Posted by: Oly1987, October 23, 2021, 3:58pm; Reply: 38
Not sure what people are saying about a lack of atmosphere went a little quiet after the goal weirdly but some good noise coming out of the Osmond (where I am today). Gotta give some credit to the Yeovil support for doing their best to make some noise just a shame about the thugs who decide to take things further than banter.
Posted by: mimma, October 23, 2021, 3:58pm; Reply: 39
Will did well to win the pen, looked like keepers ball but he accelerated and nipped in to win the ball he had no right to win and went over the keepers arm.

Most of the play is in midfield but we've created a couple of chances.

Ref is a worry, unpredictable

I know finishing has never been John Lewis's area of expertise but I swear his finishing has regressed since he was last here (I do appreciate he is 6 years older now) I still think John Lewis does offer something but if he keeps on missing these easy chances then eventually i fear it will cost us valuable points.

See this is what you can't do, You can't just give a player a free ride for missing an open goal in a championship winning side.

Yea lenny gives his all but we all know he can't finish and as much as he's popular and like i say works hard you can not just accept missing an open net.

Im not having a go its just facts.

Swim just stop following town mate. You're the first poster I've noticed in a long time. You're so negative and boring. It's redicilous.

Regards the game, we all know LJL isn't our chosen firstt striker, we all know PH tried to get another striker aswell. So let's just back the boys and if it ends 1-0 it's still 3 points 👊

It does show how easily our fans will turn on the team even when 1:0 up though when things don't come off, after so many seasons of being a losing team we struggle as fans to let go of negativity and yelling in deep voices from the stands.

I think after 20 years of misery moaning has been a coping mechanism for many of us , we’re just waiting for the next kick in the teeth or the wheels to come off .
Hopefully we’ve really turned the corner now and we’ll expect and demand that we win every week

Please don't apologise. I was the poster and I stand by all of it. I don't think LJL is worthy of a place in the current squad and in my opinion (I assume having an opinion contrary to the majority hasn't been banned by admin yet) I can't see how or why Hurst persists with him and having Taylor unavailable is bad news

It's not negative, its my opinion  unlike some I haven't yet mentioned cows arses and banjos but I don't rate him and his performance in front of goal has been abysmal - fact. Others may think his performance in the last two weeks has been outstanding

Lenny’s performances in the last two matches have been decent. His finishing hasn’t been great but he’s not a ‘goalscorer’. It’s a team game and Lenny brings a lot to the team / squad. Look at Giroud in the 2018 WC or Guivarc’h in ‘98. There’s no need to single him out though. We have goals coming from all over the squad.

It’s not like Lenny is a Payne or Conlon, who were due some of the scorn.

I had a ticket today,  was running late work wise, when I heard Lennie was playing, thought, I'll give this a miss and finish job. UTM

Thank you for attempting to post a message about me, a good effort considering English is clearly not your first language.

Actually Swin, Lukeo’s first language clearly is English. It may not meet your impeccable standards grammatically but he is pretty effective in communicating his message, which I would have thought was the main requirement in participating in an on line forum.
Or to put it into the  vernacular, please stop being such a condescending sharp object.

Your loss. Hope you gave your ticket to someone deserving of it.

Swin do you ever have anything positive to weigh in or are you content with constantly rolling out the "Hurst will be a failure if we don't get promoted first time of asking" and "Lenny is no good" tripe you persist with? This is possibly the best season some town fans have seen in a long time so why not just enjoy it?

And just in a side note, since returning from injury Lenny has scored in the 2 games he's started (albeit both penalties)

So you put your judgement above that of our team manager, the  stats say LJL has started the last 2 games and we have scored 7 and conceded 0 he has scored twice and made assists. Who is to say how the games would have gone had he not played?
I have been to neither game but from experience LJL has always been a hardworking team player, we are in the fifth tier we cannot expect Salah like finishing. He may miss a few efforts but never hides. You can have your pet hates but you should save them for when it costs us points, they may be more relevant then

Well whatever your view on Lenny, I'd rather concentrate on the fact that we have clocked up 29 points from 12 games, are the joint top scorers, have the best goal difference, have won the last four league games.

It's a tremendous start given that we recruited almost an entirely new squad. There is a long way to go, but we have given ourselves a great platform to build on.

We have been at the top of the league for weeks now, it feels great!

What’s the deal with the ticket numbers……it’s perplexing, can Kristine or someone from the club explain? I was looking forward to seeing 7000+ scrawled across the score board, but to be 600 down???

Isn’t it sold tickets (i.e. including season tickets and all tickets allocated) and the discrepancy is the actual number through the turnstile?

So the waste of space a few posts ago who decided to have another w&nk into his tissue because he found out LJL was playing, didn’t bother to turn up.

A big difference though - I can understand a couple of hundred ST holders might not make the game but not 6 hundred ticket holders not turning up...

Several hundred does sound far too many, could it be a glitch with the new ticketing system?

Because in my opinion (which hopefully I am allowed) unless Hurst gets Town back in the EFL first time he will have failed. Lovely football, good crowds mean nowt if we remain in non-league. Surely Hurst has been employed to get us promoted just as he was employed to avoid relegation last season

My opinion is that you wrote the second best book of 2019. It would have been my number one but for Edna O’Brien‘s superb ‘Girl’. That doesn’t make you a failure. You, quite rightly, should be very proud of writing a brilliant book. I don’t give you a one star review just because Edna’s book was marginally better.

It seems that 7000 was available not sold in total.

It must be tough being employed as a fluffer in a sperm clinic and having your hands full with a delayed deposit donation.

Still, that vibration white finger payout’s going to see you through your retirement.

According to their manager, they were better than us in both halves of the game.

The object of football is to outscore the opposition Mr Sarll. They managed one shot of note all game, yet we could have had 3 or 4 goals.

When he mentioned that his team were better than us in both halves I noticed he said it with finger in ear and not tongue in cheek. ;)

I think their Manager’s opinion reflects one of the problems with the modern game where possession is seen as King and people seem to forget the main aim of the game is to score more than the opposition.

Yeovil were very well organised and kept the ball very well but Macca had one save to make, from the free kick, one iffy back pass to deal with, one involvement when Waterfall made his one mistake and one flapped at corner, Yeovil never really looked like scoring despite getting away with several fouls on our centre backs. Liked the look of their number 8, ginger lad, who seemed to pick up a lot of second balls and retained possession well.

We certainly were far from our best but created all the dangerous situations in the match, albeit there were not that many of them, and with Harry’s effort and LJL’s miss could have still had four goals.

Still he wants to build his side up and give them confidence so maybe his comments are not too surprising and with a good striker they would look a very decent team.
